Introduction

Some dogs are known for their reliability. You know that if you take your pooch somewhere that you can trust them. Your dog will not pick a fight with other canines or try to chase a cat. At all times your furry buddy will listen to you. Dogs become reliable through a combination of age and training. Puppies are rarely stable but with obedience classes, exercise, one-on-one time, and patience,  any canine can grow up to become dependable.  If you trust your furry buddy, then the sky is the limit when it comes to choosing activities because you can take them anywhere!

The nice thing about owning a reliable dog is that you can take your pooch on a lavish vacation to just about any destination you choose. One of the best places to spend a day with your dog is in New York City. There are ample places that you can explore together and hotels that welcome your four-legged friend. You can even find restaurants to dine in with your canine buddy. The only requirement when investigating the Big Apple is to keep your dog on a leash. Even an emotionally stable dog can become spooked over a loud noise or familiar sight. Having control over your dog will help reduce stress and make for an enjoyable trip.
Step
1
Central Park
No visit to New York City is complete without a visit to Central Park. The park covers 843 acres and runs through the heart of Manhattan. The park has official off-leash hours that run from 9 pm to 9 am. If you are a first-time visitor, it is wise to leave the leash on your dog because you don't want them to become lost in an unfamiliar area if running leash-free. There are rocks to climb, ponds, a carousel, and a large castle that you can explore with your reliable canine companion. You can even join a hike with a group of other owners and their dogs.
Step
2
Brooklyn Brewery
At the Brooklyn Brewery, well-behaved dogs are allowed in the tasting room. At the Brewery, you can try a few of the famous Brooklyn beers that are on tap. There is no cover charge required to visit the site and reservations are not required. You can sit at any of the tables in the establishment with your furry friend. The brewery is a great place to grab a cold beer, enjoy some people watching, let your dog relax, and maybe even meet a few locals.
Step
3
Staten Island Ferry
When the Staten Island Ferry first opened for business they charged a fee to ride the ferry. There was a quarter fee to board, but today it is free. Your furry friend is also welcome to ride with you. You can shuttle with your canine from Manhattan to St. George Terminal in Staten Island. The boat runs 24/7. While riding, be sure to soak up the views of Governors Island, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. You can take a few photos of your dog on deck with the scenery behind them.

Keep your dog on a leash for this hike and enjoy the diverse trail system. Also, be sure to pack fresh water to give your dog a drink along the way. Activity description
Have you always dreamed about taking a cruise to an exotic location? Well, you can enjoy a journey on a luxury cruise ship with your pooch. Although typical cruising venues are off limits to dogs, there are several cruise ships that allow reliable dogs to accompany their owners. The only large luxury liner (at time of writing) to allow dogs onboard is Cunard, on transatlantic voyages only and the dog must stay in the kennel area. Smaller vessels, like those on European mini-cruises or river cruises, will allow dogs but you must do some research in regards to size restrictions and deck rules. Such a trip is a great way to spend quality time with your beloved buddy. On some cruise itineraries, your dog will be able to take shore excursions with you as you visit ports. Before you know it, your pooch will be turned into a true salty sea dog!
Step
1
Preparation
If you will be traveling for several days on a cruise then you are going to want to make some arrangements in advance so you don't forget anything. This means packing not just for yourself but also for your canine buddy. You will want to bring your dog's toys, food bowl, water bowl, treats, and food. You do not want to change foods on a trip or it might upset your pooch's tummy. Remember to also pack proof of all of your pet's vaccination records and also a current health certificate.
Step
2
Boarding
When you board the cruise ship your dog may hesitate at first. It's kind of a big and scary situation to your canine if this is their first time on a ship. Offer ample words of praise and encouragement. Typically, there will be ship ambassadors and staff available to welcome you and your furry buddy aboard. When the ship finally gets underway your dog might take a little while to feel accustomed to the movement of the boat. You will probably barely feel the boat's motion but your dog is far more sensitive to such changes so the first several hours may be an adjustment period for them.
Step
3
Exploring the Ports
If your cruise ship makes stops and you plan on disembarking with your dog to explore, make sure you have your pet's vaccination records and health certificate with you. You should also place identification tags on your dog's collar just in case you become separated from each other. Also, prior to disembarking the cruise ship with your dog and entering a foreign port, you should contact the country's embassy or agriculture department to be sure it is okay to bring your dog onto land with you. Some countries allow canine visitors and others do not. You may also be able to procure this information from knowledgeable officials onboard the ship.

Take a Train Ride

Many trains around the country, especially day-trip trains, allow you to bring your canine on board with you. You can sit with your dog beside you and look out the window at the passing scenery. Many pet-friendly trains will have other riders who have dogs with them giving you an opportunity to spend time with other dog-lovers. Most of the trains have an observation car where you can take photos. Some trains do not allow dogs in the dining car, but you can always ask the steward to bring you a refreshment.

Photo Fun

Pictures build memories. Why not create frameable photos for your home? Visit a park or location that holds deep meaning to use as a backdrop for the photographs. Many people opt to create an entire collection of doggy pics and then have them incorporated into a yearly calendar that they give out as a holiday gift.

Conclusion

Having a reliable dog as a companion is a joy. You can take your buddy just about anywhere without worrying about them misbehaving or acting up. The chances are good that you have owned your dog for a number of years and they are very well trained. Obedience classes and socialization sessions are important to keeping your pup comfortable in many situations and scenarios. Include your reliable dog in all you do and be grateful for their adaptability!
