Introduction

Schnauzers and Corgis seem like two perfect breeds to match up. Luckily, there is the Schnorgi! This very cool hybrid dog is affectionate and absolutely loves to spend time with their owners. However, this breed can be super stubborn so finding games that they love is necessary. They certainly do have a lot of energy so they need activities and games to be accessible to them every day. Use this guide as the perfect place to start looking for things you and your Schnorgi can do together.

Schnauzers are known for having a lot of energy so it is logical (and probably pretty obvious to you!) that your Schnorgi seems like they could go run forever! It is essential that you help your pup get some of this energy out or else they may become destructive. In fact, this breed is known to be very rambunctious in the household which can easily be curbed by just giving your pup enough exercise each day. One way to do this and to do it quickly is to get your dog moving around fast. Get your pup and get ready to go, go, go!

Step
1
Race
While you can simply let your dog run around, why not join them? Your Schnorgi will love to race around with you, their favorite person! Start in the same spot and, on your mark, get set, go! See who is faster - you or your Schnorgi with their tiny legs (you'll be surprised how quickly those legs can move!).
Step
2
Get away
Play a game with your dog called "get away". Start running slowly, with your dog following you and then quickly run in the other direction and see if your pup can keep up! When they do catch you, cheer them on and then immediately run the other way! Keep the game going until your dog is finally tired - it may take a while.
Step
3
Run together
Bring your Schnorgi out for a light jog around the block. While this breed is not good to bring for long distance runs, a short run will be great for your pup. Let your dog set the pace and see how quickly those short legs can move! Make running with your dog part of your daily routine. Even if it is just a quick run down the block, it will greatly help your dog get out some pent up energy.

Activity description

When the weather gets bad and you just can't bring your Schnorgi outside, you still need to find a way to exercise that pup. This breed needs to move around every day or they can become destructive and not a pup you want around. Keep your dog happy and active to avoid this behavior even on rainy, snowy or really hot days. Since Schnorgis are small dogs, there is a lot they can do inside to get those legs moving! So, when the weather looks grim, your outlook for the day can be a sunny one as you know that you will be having fun with your dog all day long!

Step
1
Stair run
Schnorgis love to run and what a better place to run and get some good, challenging exercise than the stairwell. Start at the top of the stairs with your pup and throw a ball down. Your Schnorgi will chase it, retrieve it and run back up to you. Up and down, up and down….this is sure to tire that pup out quickly!
Step
2
Jump
See how high your little pup can jump by holding a treat just out of their reach, over their head. Your dog will have to use a lot of energy to pounce up high and jump for their prize. Can those little legs get a foot off the ground? What about two feet? You'll be surprised by how high your Schnorgi can get!
Step
3
Obstacles
Setting up an indoor obstacle course is something your Schnorgi will love and be very good at. Make a tunnel using couch cushions and a jump using some books. Show your Schnorgi how to overcome each obstacle and then see how quickly they can move through the course. Once they conquer your course, switch it up and start again!

Activity description

Schnorgis are known to be a very smart breed of dog and it makes sense as both Corgis and Schnauzers are also very intelligent. Since they are so clever, they need activities that will strengthen their mind as well as their body. Combine this need for mental challenges with their love for food and treats by getting your pup some treat puzzles. There are many ways you can test your dog's aptitude by hiding their food inside a store bought or homemade puzzle. Your Schnorgi will spend hours trying to figure out how to get at their treat and exercise their mind in the process!

Step
1
Muffin tin treats
Begin with an easy, homemade treat puzzle for your Schnorgi. Take a standard sized muffin tin and place it on the floor. Then place a treat in each hole of the muffin tin and a tennis ball on top of the hole. Your Schnorgi will have to push the tennis ball off of the muffin tin in order to get to their treat. Easier said than done!
Step
2
Hidden cup treats
A similar game to the muffin tin activity is to use plastic solo cups to hide treats. Get three cups and place them upside down on the ground. Hide a few small treats under one of the cups then see if your Schnorgi can pick out which cup has the hidden treats.
Step
3
Puzzle toys
If your Schnorgi likes these homemade games, look into store bought puzzles for them to try. There are lots of durable plastic treat dispensing toys that your Schnorgi would love. These toys are also perfect for when you need to leave your pup by themselves as they will keep them entertained for quite some time!

Field Trip

Corgis are known to be horse loving dogs and chances are, your Schnorgi will be too! Bring your pup to visit a horse farm where they can run and play with a few bigger animals.

Socialization

Helping socialize your Schnorgi is key especially when they are still young. These dogs can get stubborn and snippy when not exposed to other dogs and trained well from a young age. Dog parks are a perfect place to do this so find one close by and make it part of your pup's routine!

Conclusion

There is so much that you can do with your Schnorgi that it is hard to know where to begin! Thanks to the immense energy that these small dogs have, you will never have to worry about your pup being too tired or not enthused about the games you set up for them. In fact, chances are that you will be exhausted long before your Schnorgi! Those fun dogs sure do keep you moving (in a great way of course)!
