Activity description

Everyone knows that to be considered a serious belly dancer, you need to invest your time in making nice, intricate costumes. The shinier, louder, and better made your costume is, the better impression you will leave with your fantastic dancing skills. So, if you can have an amazing belly dancing costume, why can’t your dog? Get a bit creative and make a fantastic costume for them so they can join you on stage and wow the audience with their skills and amazing looks! All you need for supplies are some fabric, needle and a thread, a sewing machine if you have one, some beads and bells, and of course, treats for your Doggatella Versace to reward them for being so creative and skilled in costume making!

Step
1
Measurements first
Before you go and create a costume from scratch, you need to measure twice before you cut! Draw your ensemble on a large sheet of paper to get the general idea of what you want to make and then take your doggo’s measurements to make sure that the costume fits once it’s done.
Step
2
Cut
When you have your measurements, and you have your pattern on large sheets of paper or cardboard, it is time to cut the fabric. Spread it over a large table and place your designs on it. Then, make your marks with a piece of chalk or a pencil and cut! Your pup can hold the fabric for you to keep it steady on the table while you cut.
Step
3
Stitch
Finally, it is time to put the pieces together. As you go, put the costume on your doggo to make sure it fits. When you have all the basic sewing done, you can decorate the outfit with beads and bells, let your imagination loose and create the most fantastic design on the finished product!

Activity description

Belly dancers are in great shape at all times. They need to be, as their particular style of dancing requires a lot of energy and a lot of flexibility. The movements of the torso are quite complex, and to achieve them with such elegance and ease, one must be very fit and have strong muscles. Therefore, it is only natural for belly dancers to work out regularly, so while you do, take your dog with you! They will surely love some physical activity during the day apart from their walks, so take them along and show them some exercises they can perform with you!

Step
1
Stretch
Before any exercise, it is important to stretch to avoid muscle injury and tearing of the ligaments. Start with light stretching and show your doggo how to follow. Lie on your back and spread your arms and legs (or both sets of legs in your pup’s case). Keep the position for a few seconds and repeat six times.
Step
2
Cardio
After stretching, it is time for cardio! Everyone hates it, yes, but it is essential to do it to maintain your stamina while you dance. Run around a little bit, do some light jogging and jumping jacks, and have your dog run beside you at all times. Teach them to keep up and not to run too fast so as to preserve energy.

Activity description

As a belly dancer, you are probably not opposed to performing for your friends, family, and even strangers, one of your performances in public. As much as you love it and find it exciting and exhilarating, your doggo probably feels the same as they have no sense of shame or anxiety over possible failure. Next time you want to show off your moves to your friends, do it in a duet with your lovely doggo! Teach them how to dance and move their body like a belly dancer does and let the world know just how talented and flexible they are. The only price to pay for this fun activity is a willingness to perform!

Step
1
Hind leg dance
Teach your pup how to dance on their hind legs if possible, and only if it won't affect their health and joints in any way. Always remember to be safe first, no art is worth getting hurt over or injuring your pup’s joints and ligaments. Be a patient teacher and give them treats every time they do something right.
Step
2
Perform
Gather your friends, family, canine buddies, and acquaintances for a fun night of belly dancing in your apartment. Be a great host and decorate your place with pillows and candles and put on a show they’ll never forget! Let your pup show off their skills and allow them to be the star of the evening!
