Activity description
Australian Shepherds are a working breed of dog whose main purpose in life is to herd sheep from one field to another. Since these pups have the need to work in their DNA, they are happiest when they have a job to do whether it is herding sheep or just helping out around the house. Bull-Aussies also share this desire to have a job, a inherent need that can actually be quite helpful when used correctly! Giving your Bull-Aussie chores will lessen your load at home, is completely free to teach your pup and can be done anytime you'd like! Sounds like the perfect thing to do with your work-dog Bull-Aussie!
Step
1
Slipper delivery
Wouldn't it be nice if your Bull-Aussie brought you your slippers? Well, they would love to! Start by teaching your dog the word "slippers" by showing them the slippers and repeatedly saying the word. Then, let your dog hold the slippers in their mouth and then take them away and reward your dog. Say "fetch, slippers" as you take the slippers away. Repeat this action and command and soon enough, your Bull-Aussie will know exactly what "fetch, slippers" means!
Step
2
Toy pick up
Bull-Aussies love playing with toys and they will absolutely love having the job of cleaning up after they play. Teach your pup where their toys go and name that spot. Work with your Bull-Aussie, using their favorite treats, to teach them to bring their toys to their "home" whenever you say "clean up!". Useful and fun!
Step
3
Close doors
Closing a door is something that your Bull-Aussie will be able to learn quickly. Have your dog push a door with their paw or nose by placing a treat near the door, encouraging them to touch it. When your dog hits the door, say "close door" and give them a reward. Keep practicing and soon you'll never have to worry about an open door again - Bull-Aussie's take their jobs very seriously!

Large Soccer Net
Large Exercise Balls
Activity description
The Australian Shepherd part of your dog has a natural instinct to herd. This may shine through when your dog is around small children or other pups, they will try to push them in certain directions! While this can be amusing, it can also be dangerous if your Bull-Aussie tries to "herd" by nipping. However, teaching your dog treibball is the perfect way to let your Bull-Aussie herd in a safer way. This game is fairly easy to learn but it may take some practice, sunny days being the best time to head outside and play. You will need to invest in a few large exercise balls but they will be quite fun for you and your pup!
Step
1
Field search
Head to an open field or space where you can set up a large net and spread out the exercise balls. Let your Bull-Aussie sniff around and get adjusted to their surroundings so there will be no distractions while you play treibball. Once your pup has gotten out a little energy, call them over - it's time to play!
Step
2
Push
Begin by teaching your Bull-Aussie how to move the ball forward. Have your dog target the ball by putting a treat near the ball and moving it away when your dog tries to grab it. They will hit the ball and it will roll, at which time, you can say "push". Once your dog has learned to push the ball, work on directions, teaching your dog to move the ball right and left on command.
Step
3
Goal
As your dog pushes the ball forward upon command, call out directions and have them move the ball toward the goal. When the ball goes in the goal, cheer and give your pup lots of praise. Then have them move onto the next ball, getting each one in the goal. Set the balls up again and see how quickly your dog can move them into the goal. If your Bull-Aussie gets really good, they can even enter treibball competitions!

Activity description
English Bulldogs are known to have super strength. Even though they have little legs, they are solid, sturdy dogs! Now, when you combine this weight with the height and power of an Australian Shepherd, you have one tough, strong dog! Letting your dog use this strength will not only make them happy but keep them fit. It doesn't take long to play a strength building game with your Bull-Aussie and the activities are practically free, costing only the price of a few simple toys! You can also do a lot of these games right at home meaning they are not dependent on weather. Sounds like you and your Bull-Aussie are ready to have fun right now!
Step
1
Tug
While some people think that playing tug is bad, encouraging a dog to pull you, it is actually a great way to work on your pup's strength. While you sit on the couch, your dog can pull at the end of a rope to their heart's content, getting in a good workout and having fun while you get to relax (although you will also get an arm workout pulling back!).
Step
2
Stair workout
Stand at the top of the stairs and throw a tennis ball down, having your Bull-Aussie chase it and bring it back up to you. Going up and down the stairs again and again will certainly make your pup tired and help them develop some serious leg muscles. How many repetitions will your dog do before they get really tired? See if they can do more than ten without a rest!
Step
3
Weighted jacket
Buy a weighted dog vest for your pup to wear around the house or when out on walks. Not only will this help your dog utilize that English Bulldog strength but it will also satisfy their need to have a 'job' - carrying around a pack is a serious job for a focused dog! A weighted jacket will be perfect for your Bull-Aussie.
