Introduction

What do you get when you cross a Corgi with a Labrador? A Corgidor! The adorable, funny name belongs to the seemingly impossible mix of a Corgi and Lab, which results in some of the cutest puppies out there. Corgidors are fun and goofy, a perfect blend of their parents, they make the great family pets because of their lovable personalities. They like children and they get along with other pets just fine, and they are also quite cheerful and mellow pups.

Activity description

When the days are long and hot, when the summer just won’t end, and when you don’t have access to a large body of water in which you and your pup can submerge and stay there forever, playing with sprinklers in your backyard does not seem like a bad idea, right? In the warm summer days, you need to cool off. Your dog needs to cool off. The Earth needs to cool off. So, spend some quality time with your pup this weekend and crank up those sprinklers! You two deserve some love and hydration, not just your grass!

Step
1
Sprinkle
Hook up your sprinkle to a garden hose and place it in the middle of your backyard to allow maximum coverage. Build up the excitement. Tell your dog that you two are about to have the time of your lives. Pump up the fun by making them wait before you turn the sprinklers on. Make the game challenging.
Step
2
Water war
Turn on your sprinkle or sprinklers if you have multiple. Show your dog how to chase the water and let them try to catch it with their mouth. Run around with them to make the game more fun and to show them they should not be afraid of the water.
Step
3
Soak
In the end, if your dog managed to escape the beams of water, take a garden hose and soak your pooch and yourself. This will not only clean their coat (since they probably rolled around in the grass), but also cool them off in the hot summer days.

Activity description

To get enough exercise for your doggo, make sure that you are including a refreshing run once in a while. Corgidors are active dogs so they love to chase things, they love to run, and they love to use their muscles. To make sure they are healthy and happy, and most of all, not bored, go for a run with them! We are not talking about sprinting, of course, but a relaxing jog with your dog by your side will be beneficial for the both of you. Just make sure that you are wearing proper shoes and that your dog is on the leash to prevent them from running into the street, or worse.

Step
1
Prep
Before you go on a run, prepare. Wear good running shoes to avoid getting injured, and bring a bottle of water with you. Also bring a collapsible dog bowl so your pup can rehydrate as well, especially if the temperature outside is on the higher end of the scale.
Step
2
Jog
There’s not much philosophy around it. Get out of the house and start jogging. If possible, choose a grassy area, preferably the meadow or the woods instead of asphalt. This way, you are saving your pup’s paws and joints, and doing your knees a service as well. It is always better to run on a softer surface to avoid injuries.
Step
3
Sprint
After some light jogging, do some interval sprinting together. Don’t go overboard though, a minute of sprinting to five minutes of jogging is just enough to elevate your heart rates and shed those pounds, but also keep your joints intact and avoid fatigue.

Activity description

Everybody needs somebody. Can anybody find your Corgidor somebody to love? If you think that everyone should have a friend, you are not mistaken. Even your Corgidor needs a canine buddy to learn how to socialize with other dogs, so arranging a play date for them is a great way to show them that other dogs are not the enemy. This might take time, so make sure that you are doing this gradually and over time, do not force them to hang out with ten other dogs at once. Start with one friend and work your way through the dog gang.

Step
1
Introduce
Find a fellow dog owner and arrange a play date for your pups. Keep them on their leashes at first until they get a little more comfortable around each other. Allow them to sniff each other and introduce themselves, and when you see that they are getting more relaxed, you relax as well. Let them run around and play.
Step
2
Double fetch
You can play a simple game of fetch with your Corgidor and their buddy. The dogs will love the challenge and they will surely enjoy the competition. Give them treats when they behave well and encourage them to be friendly and kind to each other. And voila! Your dog has a friend for life!

More Fun Ideas...

Automatic Feeder

On a rainy day when you cannot go outside and play, keep your dog occupied with the interactive feeder. This will stimulate their brains and allow them to have fun even when they can’t run around the meadow and play in the dog park.

Treat Ball

Another great way to keep your dog occupied while you do house work is to give them an interactive treat ball. These balls are durable and fun, and they don’t have any sharp openings so your dog cannot get hurt while they try to retrieve the treat from inside the ball.

Conclusion

Corgidors are a lot of fun, as you can see. They are versatile dogs that enjoy a variety of activities and they are little rays of sunshine that will brighten any day, no matter how dull it seems. With a little creativity and time investment, you can keep your dog happy and occupied and stimulate their brain and their muscles with the variety of exercise and fun activities you can do with them. Plus, they are so cute that you won’t ever want to be without them by your side!
