Introduction

The Eskifon, which is a hybrid dog breed created by breeding an American Eskimo and Brussels Griffon, can be stubborn and bossy, but they need exercise all the same. These dogs are generally less than 20 pounds and require about 30 minutes of moderate activity every day. They are fun-loving and enjoy playing outside and spending lots of time with their families. For these reasons, it is very easy to get creative with activities for your Eskifon. At Wag!, we have a few different ideas for fun activities that you can take part in with your Eskifon without getting bored. Here are some of our favorite ideas.

Activity description

If you are planning on spending a day at the beach any time soon, you should consider bringing your Eskifon with you! Many dogs love to play in the sand and water, and if you have a dog-friendly beach nearby, this is a great way to spend time with your pooch. Make sure that you never force your dog to get into the water, but if they want to swim, it can be a lot of fun for them to hop on in the ocean. If your dog doesn't love to get in the water, let them enjoy the sun and the sand instead. But, make sure that there is always fresh water for them to drink nearby. If shade is needed, set up an umbrella for cooling off sessions.

Step
1
Research beaches
It is very important that you make sure that you only take your dog to a dog-friendly beach. Bringing your dog to a beach that doesn't allow dogs could get you in a lot of trouble. See if there are any areas that dogs are allowed. It is a bonus if you can find a beach that allows dogs to be off-leash, which is rare in some areas of the country.
Step
2
Play safe
If your dog isn't used to swimming, you need to be prepared. Keep a doggy lifejacket on your dog to make sure that they don't drown in the ocean due to fatigue or from being carried out on the waves. Stay extra close to your pup at all times when around any body of water. Follow all of the rules of the beach. Keep your dog leashed if that is a requirement of the area. Always make sure that you have fresh water available for your Eskifon to drink. Monitor your dog to make sure that they don't get too hot in the sun.

Activity description

Who doesn't love to dance around the house? Eskifons are naturally preppy, so this is a great way to help your pooch release pent up energy. All you need is some fun music to dance to. If your dog doesn't seem interested in dancing with you, you can always try to entice them with treats! Put some music on and groove around your house. If you want to actually teach your dog dance moves, you can try to teach them a few with the treats, but it isn't a requirement for a fun dance party in the house with your favorite pup!

Step
1
Pick some moves
If you want to teach your cute Eskifon a few dance moves, get the treats ready and research a few dance moves. We love having doggies dance on their hind legs, which can be pretty easy to teach. You could also teach a booty waggle. Just try to have fun and keep your pooch moving.
Step
2
Just move
Dancing is supposed to be fun, so don't focus too much on picking the perfect songs or dance moves. Just get out and move with your pooch. Your Eskifon will love that you are grooving around the house with them, and it can be a fun bonding experience. Try this fun energy expender a few times a week!

Treat Toy
Treats
Activity description

Interactive treat toys can be a great way to occupy your dog's time when you don't have a lot of time to dedicate to them. Eskifons, like most dogs, love to get a treat from time to time, so these toys are the perfect way to reward them while keeping them busy. There are numerous different kinds of treat toys. You can pick those that are stuffed with treats that your dog can lick out, or you can select a treat dispensing toy that will drop treats for your dog when they manipulate the toy in a certain way. Both are great options for your pooch!

Step
1
Select the fun
Choosing just the right toy for optimal fun may require you to do a little bit of research. Keep your pet's interests and tastes in mind. Once you have decided on a toy, you should know that you need to supervise the first playtime to make sure that your Eskifon is playing safely with the toy.
Step
2
Fill 'er up
Choose a treat that you want to put in the toy. In some cases, small, solid treats may be the best bet. In other toys, you might need a soft substance (like dog-safe peanut butter or a homemade dog dessert) that can be spread on the end of and inside the toy as a tasty treat. No matter what you choose, we are sure that your dog will love the fun!

Shopping

Find dog-friendly stores in your area and take your Eskifon on a little shopping trip. Pet stores always make great outings, but home improvement stores and many others also allow dogs. This is also a great opportunity for your dog to socialize as well.

Play at the Dog Park

Small dogs can have a lot of fun at the dog park, too! Find a nearby dog park that has a separate area for small dogs and let your Eskifon romp with all the other local dogs.

Conclusion

To ensure that these dogs are getting enough exercise each day, you might need to break out of your regular walking routine, which can get boring for your Eskifon. We hope that these unique activities can help you keep things interesting for your Eskifon and provide bonding time, too.
