Introduction

When you think of a French Bull Dog and a Great Dane, you may not think there is anything these two breeds have in common. Then, you hear of the French Bull Dane - a mix of the two most unlikely dogs! While the size of this dog can range from 20 pounds to 120 pounds, there is one thing you can be sure of: if you have a French Bull Dane, your life will never be boring around this happy, loyal and playful dog.

Activity description
While you may never want to leave your dog at home and wish that you could be with them all day, every day, that likely isn't the case. Like most pet owners, you probably have to go away at some point, leaving your French Bull Dane at home. As you may be well aware of, this is not something your dog likes. Since French Bull Danes become quite attached to their owners, they can be very depressed and destructive when left alone. Finding a good doggy daycare can help prevent all of this and is quite easy to do. It does cost a bit of money but it is worth the cost if your French Bull Dane stays happy.
Step
1
Find a center
Look for a doggy daycare near you and compare all of your options. Be sure that what you need, they have. Are you interested in full day care? A location where you can drop your dog off anytime? Or maybe you want to be sure your pup plays with similar sized dogs. Find a place that checks all your boxes.
Step
2
Trial day
Many doggy daycare centers will let your dog try the center out for a day to be sure that your pup likes the facility. Bring your dog in for a test day or even just for an hour or two to see the center. Let the doggy daycare know of any issues your pup may have, health or otherwise. You want to be sure your big (or little!) dog is taken care of!
Step
3
Consistency
Develop a routine when you bring your dog to doggy daycare. This breed thrives on predictability and will enjoy having a consistent pattern. When you drop your dog off each day, give them a good pat and then be on your way, knowing that your dog is having fun, safe and not at home chewing on your furniture!

Treats
Activity description
French Bull Danes, unfortunately, inherit many traits from their Great Dane linage, one of them being their bad joints. Luckily, the French Bulldog side of this breed is fairly relaxed and doesn't require much exercise. That being said, you still do want to be sure your pup is moving around enough each day to keep them healthy without hurting their fragile joints and bones. Playing a game of hide and seek with your French Bull Dane is a perfect, low key yet very fun way to get your dog moving around. You can play in any weather as you will mainly be inside and playing hide and seek is practically free, just the price of a few treats!
Step
1
Sit and stay
Grab a handful of your French Bull Dane's favorite treats and call your pup over. Have them sit in the center of one room and toss them a treat. Show your pup all the other treats in your hand and command them to "stay". Slowly back out of the room and head toward your hiding spot, repeating the word "stay" so that your dog doesn't move a muscle!
Step
2
Hide
The first few rounds of the game, you want to pick a hiding place where your pup can easily find you. While it may seem too simple, it will help your dog get the idea of how to play the game. "Hide" in another room in plain sight or just off to the side a little bit. Once your French Bull Dane is a hide and seek pro, you can start hiding under beds, behind doors and anywhere else you think may challenge your pup.
Step
3
Seek
Once you have found your hiding spot, call your anxiously waiting dog just one time. They will start searching for you using their ears and their nose (they know you are holding some delicious treats). Once your dog finds you, give them lots of love and attention and then bring them back to the other room to sit and stay, then start again!

Activity description
French Bull Danes may not be the most active dogs but they certainly love to walk. In fact, walking happens to be the perfect activity for this breed as it isn't too strenuous (as long as you don't try to hike a mountain!) and can be done anywhere, anytime. However, walking the same route over and over again can grow quite tedious, making any dog owner not very excited about taking their dog for the third, same walk of the day. Switching up your daily walks is easy and free to do so it is something you should definitely try!
Step
1
Simple switch
You don't have to go very far in order to make your walks with your French Bull Dane new and exciting. Head out on your usual walk but then, rather than turn left, go right. Walk a little further than you usually do or do your usual walk in reverse route. Little changes can make everything feel new and exciting!
Step
2
Drive, then walk
Put your French Bull Dane in the car and take a drive to a new location for your walk. You can drive to a scenic walking path that will wind you through a park, find a beach to stroll beside or just drive to a different neighborhood in your town to walk. A new location will give your pup lots to see and to smell!
Step
3
Find a friend
If you have a friend or family member who owns a dog, ask if they want to walk with you and your pup. Your French Bull Dane will love walking with another dog as they will get the feeling of being in a dog pack, on a mission. You will also enjoy walking with another person so you can chat as you walk. Any walk is better with friends!

More Fun Ideas...

Cozy Spot

Since French Bull Danes love to lounge around, make a spot in your house that your dog can call their own. Extra blankets, dog beds and some natural sunlight will make your dog very happy.

Treat Search

Hide a few treats in your house and then have your French Bull Dane try to find them. Since Great Danes were used as fearless hunting dogs, your pup likely has a fantastic sense of smell and will find the treats right away!

Conclusion

French Bull Danes are a perfect breed of dog for an owner who wants a happy pup that requires little physical activity. Despite their laid back nature, there are plenty of activities your dog will love and so will you! So find a dog friend to walk with, play a round of hide and seek or just look into a doggy daycare to prevent your pup from being lonely. All of these activities will have great results!
