Introduction

Toy Poxers are a hybrid breed created by breeding Pugs and Toy Fox Terriers. These dogs are generally under 15 pounds, but that doesn't mean that they don't need adequate exercise and activity. In fact, these little dogs often don't get the level of activity that they need in their daily lives. Focus on getting these little dynamos at least 30 minutes of good exercise or activity every day. Not all activity has to be physical. You can also incorporate mental stimulation into your pet's life and even daily routine. Here are some of Wag's! favorite activities for pet owners to participate in with their dogs.

Activity description

When you have a cute dog, it is hard not to take a million photos every day. Why not set aside a specific photoshoot date with your Toy Poxer? With a photoshoot, you can set up props and dress your dog up in costumes to get only the very best photos. This photoshoot can take place either indoors or outdoors, so pick a location that you think is beautiful and start snapping photos. If you already have props and outfits, you don't need to spend anything on this activity with your Toy Poxer. While you may be having a great time, limit the photoshoot to about 30 minutes so that your pooch doesn't get restless.

Step
1
Set up your spot
Decide on a location or theme, and get everything for the photoshoot set up before you start taking photographs of your dog. You might want to look for creative inspiration on social media like Instagram or Pinterest. You can get a lot of fun ideas online.
Step
2
Take your pictures
Now, you get to have a lot of fun! Grab your camera or your phone and start snapping all kinds of photos of your Toy Poxer! You can move props and change outfits as needed, but make sure that your lighting is great so that you can get the best photos. Snap as many photos as you can. The more images that you get, the better your chances are of getting a lot of good photos.

Activity description
Little dogs are often considered to be delicate. Just because Toy Poxers are small doesn't mean that they can't enjoy a wrestling match or two. The best part about wrestling with your dog is that it provides exercise and a great bonding experience for you and your pooch. Make sure that you don't push your dog to do too much, because they can easily get worn out. Keep your wrestling matches to 15 minutes and be careful that you aren't too rough. You can enjoy a wrestling match with your dog any day for literally no extra money out of your pocket.
Step
1
Come up with commands
You need to have a command that signals for your dog that you are allowing time for rough play. Your dog needs to understand that this type of behavior is only acceptable when you say it is. Come up with another command to signal the end of this play.
Step
2
Create boundaries
Even during wrestling matches, not all rough behaviors will be acceptable. If your dog starts to bite or become aggressive, you should immediately take a break from the wrestling to discourage the behavior. It is up to you to determine what you think is appropriate during wrestling.
Step
3
Enjoy wrestling
Even though you need to have rules, this is supposed to be a fun activity for you and your Toy Poxer. Your pooch is going to love this kind of playtime, and as long as you are being safe, you will too! If you notice that your dog seems stressed at any point, you should end the game. Don't make your dog feel uncomfortable for a little wrestling match.

Activity description

Everyone loves to celebrate their birthday. It is a time that is all about the birthday boy or girl. So, why not make the same hoopla about your Toy Poxer's birthday every year? Plan a fun party and invite all of your dog's friends (or your friend's dogs!). Remember to get party decorations, dog toys, and dog-friendly goodies like a cake and other treats to share with all of your guests. Make sure that you have the party in an area that is safe for the dogs. If you are having an outdoor party, make sure you are in an enclosed area. If you don't want to worry about outdoors, keep the party inside.

Step
1
Make preparations
Before you have a party, you need to come up with a guest list, invite guests, and get all of the goodies. Make sure that you start planning early so that you aren't rushing around at the last minute and causing yourself unnecessary stress. Be sure to order decorations and food early so that they are ready on time.
Step
2
Set up the party
Before the guests arrive, you need to get your party location all set up. Be sure that all of your decorations are up, get goodie bags put together, set out toys, and display the doggy cake! Your party will look fabulous, but preparation is key. Remember to make the area a dog-safe zone with treats and decorations out of reach of curious pups.
Step
3
Play hostess
Welcome guests (both four-legged and human) to your party and make sure that everyone is having a good time. Your dog will be the center of attention, but that doesn't mean that everyone else isn't important. If all of the dog owners are staying, you will have help monitoring the dogs as they play with each other, which can be a huge help. You can also move the party along by serving cake and starting the presents.
