Give a Wag! Gives to Albuquerque Shelters

New Mexico’s leading private animal welfare organization, Animal Humane New Mexico serves cats, dogs, and families in the greater Albuquerque area from their main campus and across the state through partnerships with other shelters. Since they opened their doors in 2010, the organization has rehomed 100% of the animals that have come into their care.

Animal Humane New Mexico is committed to supporting and improving the lives of New Mexico’s cats and dogs. They do so through comforting shelter, a thoughtful adoption process, humane animal education, and full-service veterinary care. They envision a society in which every animal in New Mexico is treated with respect and compassion. The animal welfare organization has a 90% save rate of animals that need serious medical care and they are constantly expanding and innovating their progressive, life-saving services to make that number even higher.

Established in 1996, Watermelon Mountain Ranch has rescued and adopted out over 100,000 animals into their forever homes. With a 10-acre facility, Watermelon Mountain Ranch is the largest no-kill shelter in the state and has worked with the local community and youth organizations, aiming to reduce pet overpopulation through education.

The New Mexico Animal Friends shelter is devoted to rescuing homeless dogs and cats in the community and providing them with quality care through foster homes until they find the animal a loving forever home. They have a strict no-kill policy, except in cases of severe and untreatable medical or behavioral problems. New Mexico Animal Friends also helps promote animal welfare through educational efforts and services for the community.
