Give a Wag! Gives to Alexandria Shelters

Animal Welfare League of Arlington's mission is to spread compassion for all living creatures, to aid those animals in need, to find a home for every animal and to educate the public on being the most responsible, caring pet parents they can be.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington was founded in 1946. They have been serving the animal-loving community selflessly ever since! The Animal Welfare League of Arlington, outside of providing shelter for the area's homeless, abused and neglected animals, boasts many programs to aid in decreasing the over-population of pets such as a spay and neuter operations and education about its importance, vaccination clinics and other community outreach events.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington houses close to 2000 animals per year, including dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, chinchillas and iguanas. The League consists of 200 dedicated, animal loving workers who won't rest until every animal inside their walls finds their happily ever after.

If you are looking to adopt your first pet this year or thinking of expanding your fur (or scaly, shelled or feathered) family, the staff at The Animal Welfare League of Arlington hopes you come visit them soon. When you visit, please consider adopting a special needs animal or a senior pet. All of the pets inside the rescue need a home, but the special needs and older pets are often overlooked. They have plenty of love to give too - and are just as deserving.  Come on in and see all of these adorable animals today!

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is a non-profit organization that receives no funding from the State; they operate solely on donations from animal lovers just like you. If you are able to give during this season, please consider supporting this very worthy cause.  They do so many good things for so many loving animals who - without the help, food, medical attention and shelter of the League, would all be hungry. homeless, injured, abused or worse. If you are unable to make a financial donation, you could donate some of your time instead. There are plenty of jobs that need to be done! It takes a lot of people to make the League run smoothly.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is an amazing organization that needs your help to continue their selfless work on behalf of their animals.  If you are interested in adopting, volunteering or fostering, please contact the the League.
