Give a Wag! Gives to Cedar Creek Shelters

About 25 miles southeast of Austin lies the small town of Cedar Creek, Texas. While this is an area that lies outside of a large city, there are still issues with homeless animals. Fortunately, there are shelters in the area that help these animals in their hardest times.

Bastrop Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that rescues animals from the Bastrop County Animal Shelter that could make great pets but are at risk of being euthanized due to overcrowding at the shelter. Once the animals are brought to Bastrop Animal Rescue, they are cared for by volunteers until they can be carefully placed in a home with just the right family. All animals that come to the group are spayed and neutered, given necessary vaccines, and microchipped. By utilizing volunteer foster families, Bastrop Animal Rescue can help a number of animals each year.

Friends of Bastrop County Animal Shelter was founded in 2008 as a volunteer-driven, non-profit group that helps animals at the Bastrop County Animal Shelter. The group raises awareness for the needs of the animals in the shelter and facilitates off-site adoptions. This organization hopes to increase the number of adoptions from the shelter, while also promoting responsible pet ownership and spaying and neutering pets. Friends of Bastrop County Animal Shelter also help provide funding for the shelter.

If you live in the Cedar Creek area and are looking for a new home, consider contacting one of these organizations for help with finding a new pet to bring into your home.
