Give a Wag! Gives to Charlotte Shelters

If you believe that every dog deserves to find happiness and a loving home, you’ll find plenty of friends in Charlotte! This North Carolina city features a long list of dog-friendly attractions, as well as plenty of committed, hard-working animal rescue organizations.

Carolina P.A.W.S. is one of those groups. A non-profit organization staffed by volunteers, Carolina P.A.W.S. helps abandoned and abused dogs and cats throughout the Greater Charlotte area find happiness in loving homes. High-risk animals are rescued, given the medical attention they need, physically and emotionally rehabilitated, and then looked after by loving foster carers until permanent homes can be found.

Dog Days of Charlotte also has its paws on the pulse when it comes to the needs of the city’s dogs. This non-profit rescues dogs from high-kill shelters around North Carolina’s Piedmont Region, helping them find foster homes and hopefully loving forever homes. Donations, volunteers and foster carers are always welcome.

North Meck Animal Rescue is another excellent Charlotte-based rescue group. This non-profit, no-kill animal rescue is on a mission to put an end to pet abandonment, abuse, and neglect. The animals it rescues are cared for in loving foster homes and then adopted out to forever families. North Meck Animal Rescue also offers educational resources to help new owners better care for their pets, and is always on the lookout for more volunteers.
