A favorite post-Labor Day tradition of Grand Junction's doggos, Dog Days is an opportunity for your four-legged friend to take a dip, swim, or dive in the area's public pool! This event is for doggie swimmers only- no humans allowed! Dogs are welcome to jump off the diving board, fetch toys, splash in the shallow end, and romp around the lawn. The pool is open to dogs under 25 lbs from 10-11:30 and all dogs from 11:30-2. Don't miss this summer's end event, where pooches get the last lap before the pool closes for the season!

Bangs Canyon/Mica Mine Trail
Looking for an awe-inspiring outdoor endeavor for you and your pooch? The Bangs Canyon trailhead is a wonderful 2.6-mile round trip trail through the Bureau of Land Management's Bangs Canyon Management area. The popular trail ends at the area's renowned Mica Mine, a cave with a plethora of sparkling mica and quartz. Leashed dogs are welcome and often found meandering through the trails creek. The picturesque trail is full of cliff views, bends, and curves and is smattered with willows, sagebrush, wild roses, and several other stunning trees and flowers. This hike is a classic of the area!

Canyon View Dog Park
Canyon View Dog Park is located at the north end of Grand Junction's Canyon View Park. The fenced 3.2-acre section of land is separated into 3 individual sections, one for small and senior dogs and two for large and active dogs, so that all canines can enjoy some much needed off-leash time! Entryways are double-gated for safety and the park features a bathroom, city-provided poop bags, and a pond for your pals to swim in! The icing on top of the cake is the stunning views of canyons and mountains that the park offers. Please be sure to clean up after your pet!
