Little Elm is a small suburb of Dallas that offers residents a quiet home life away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. While little elm has a small-town feel, it still has its share of big city problems. Homeless pets aren’t as common as they are in the city, but stray critters still wander through the town, occasionally. Luckily, a couple animal shelters are close by that can provide shelter, food, and medical care to the animals in need.
The Little Elm Animal Shelter is run by the Development Services Department of the Little Elm city government. This shelter is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for all the animals that call it home until they can find a new, loving family to take them in. Working with the city, the shelter takes in all the animals that are picked up by Little Elm Animal Services. The shelter can also help residents trap animals in the area, both tame and wild.
The Frisco Humane Society is dedicated to helping save the lives of homeless, abused, and neglected pets in the area. The organization is a non-profit, which means that it is funded by donations, adoption fees, and fundraisers. It is also a no-kill rescue that works hard to prevent the senseless killing of animals due to overpopulation. To help further this mission, the shelter also spays and neuters all the animals that enter the facility and staff educates the public on the importance of spaying and neutering animals.
