Give a Wag! Gives to Los Angeles Shelters

Ah, Los Angeles, the city of angels - which, we're sure is an aptly appointed name because your pup lives there! L.A. is one of the hottest, dog-friendly cities in California right now! The number of dog-friendly restaurants, bars, and shopping centers is endless, and more doggo events take place in this hub-city than you'd ever imagine. From surfing pup events to dog-friendly hikes, L.A. is certainly not lacking when it comes to doggy-themed fun.

The huge number of puppy shelters, humane societies, adoption foundations, and rescues don't hurt the pup-friendly vibes, either. L.A. is a huge city, and the number of shelters in the area reflects that. For example, L.A. doesn't just host one animal services shelter, instead, it has over five!

Because of this, we'd love to shine the light on a few, lesser known shelters that are doing their darndest to rescue pups in the L.A. area!

NKLA Pet Adoption Center in L.A. is the no-kill pet shelter in West L.A. It's home to hundreds of pups waiting for adoption (and even has a boutique in the shelter - how very West L.A.). They're also the group that was behind the No-Kill L.A. initiative and have spaying and neutering services available to animals in the area.

One of the more luxe associations in L.A. is the Found Animals Adopt & Shop organization. This establishment rescues pups from local kill-shelters and even acts as a fancy pup boutique.

The Downtown Dog Rescue is an organization that's pretty unique, too! Not only does it aim to rescue homeless pets, it works to help homeless people care for the pets they already have by keeping them spayed, neutered, up to date on shots, and in the best care possible. This organization even holds weekly meetups with a dog-training specialist to help these canines learn their rights from wrongs
