As a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Mansfield, Texas, is home to hundreds of homeless pets that need new homes and loving families. Fortunately, there are a couple of animal shelters in the area that are helping stray pets find new, loving homes.
The Mansfield Animal Care and Control Department runs an animal shelter that adopts out cats and dogs that were surrendered by their previous owners, were found and left unclaimed by owners for three days, or don’t have homes. These animals are all microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered, or the new owner is given a coupon to spay or neuter the pet at a discount. Adoption prices for both cats and dogs are always less than $70, which makes the animals at the Mansfield Animal Care and Control Department affordable.
The Arlington Humane Society was founded in 1984 to help care for unwanted pets to prevent euthanasia at other shelters in the area. As a no-kill shelter, the Arlington Humane Society works hard to help pet owners keep their pets, which includes offering training and behavior resolution programs, as well as low-cost veterinary care. The organization runs due to the large number of volunteers who help care for the animals. The facility operates out of a donated space, which helps it care for more healthy, adoptable animals. Unfortunately, the shelter doesn’t have the means to care for sick or unadoptable pets, and those pets must be turned away.
For those in the area looking for a new pet, contact one of the aforementioned shelters today to find a new furry friend.
