Give a Wag! Gives to Modesto Shelters

When dogs in the Californian city of Modesto suffer abuse, neglect, or abandonment, there’s no shortage of dog lovers and animal welfare groups willing to help. Modesto’s pooches can rely on a helping paw from several grrr-eat rescue groups and animal advocates that operate in the local area, such as the Humane Society of Stanislaus County.

This non-profit animal rescue, welfare, and education organization helps at-risk companion animals throughout Stanislaus County. The group is run completely by volunteers and does not have a shelter to house the animals it rescues, relying instead on a dedicated network of foster carers to provide the care these at-risk pets need. As the Humane Society of Stanislaus County is not associated with any national organizations or government associations, it is always on the lookout for volunteers and much-need donations.

The SPCA of Stanislaus is another local non-profit with animals at the forefront of everything it does. Founded to protect animals from cruelty and to promote their well-being and humane treatment, the SPCA is a no-kill shelter staffed solely by volunteers. It relies on donations to continue helping animals in need and does everything from promoting the passage of humane legislation to finding homes for unwanted pets and supporting spay and neuter services.

Finally, Pupz N Palz Rescue is a small canine rescue group based in Modesto. Operating on a no-kill philosophy, the group rescues dogs from high-kill shelters, accepts owner surrenders, and sometimes takes in lost and abandoned animals. All rescued dogs are vaccinated, given the medical care they need and then given a second chance at life in a loving forever home.
