Give a Wag! Gives to Murfreesboro Shelters

Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Services (PAWS) is located at 285 John R.. Rice Boulevard in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Their mission is clear - if there is an abandoned, sick, old, abused, hungry, stray, unwanted or unloved animal out there, they will help them! PAWS also offers educational programs for the community about proper nutrition, obedience, tips on spotting suspected animal abuse, the importance of spaying and neutering your pets and kindness to our animal friends. If you suspect animal abuse ever, please contact the staff at PAWS and they will guide you through the reporting process.

Are you looking to adopt your first pet or are you looking to add another furry friend to the pack? PAWS would love to meet you and help you choose your new forever friend that is the perfect match for you, your family and your lifestyle. Check out the many adoptable fur babies online, at their facility or at adoption events. Believe us, your new best friend can't wait to meet you!

If you aren't looking to adopt right now and you have some spare time you can volunteer at the facility, the staff would appreciate your help so much. There is always a job that needs to be done including cleaning, office work, fundraising organization, adoption events, walking and exercising, playing (yes, playing is a job - but a fun one!) or simply cuddling with some of the more timid, sick or nervous fur babies. Its the best "job" you will ever have!

Did you know when you foster one of the pets at the facility, that opens a "spot" up for another pet to stay so you are effectively saving two lives?  See, rewarding right? Fostering is good for the doggos because not only are they someplace safe and warm where they are loved and cuddled, but they will learn much needed social skills, pack mentality, become socialized with people and other pets and learn they are important and special and cared for. When someone decides they want to adopt your foster pet, you will be able to answer all of their questions and let them know what Fido or Fifi likes or doesn't like, their favorite treat or toy and some silly little things they do that make you smile.

If you are interested in adopting, volunteering or fostering, please contact PAWS.
