Give a Wag! Gives to National City Shelters

Situated in the South Bay region of the San Diego metropolitan area, National City enjoys easy access to all the best dog-friendly experiences and events that San Diego has to offer. Pets in the region are also well catered for by a number of dedicated animal welfare and rescue groups, which are always willing to step in and help out when dogs fall on hard times!

The San Diego Humane Society is one of those groups. Founded in 1880, the society operates campuses in San Diego, Escondido, and Oceanside. It offers an extensive variety of programs and services designed to strengthen the human/animal bond, prevent cruelty, and educate the public about the humane treatment of animals.

The San Diego Humane Society is actually San Diego’s oldest non-profit organization, and it has a long-standing commitment to helping animals in need. It offers on-site and mobile adoptions, conducts animal cruelty and neglect investigations, spay and neuter services, vaccine clinics, and much more.

PAWS of Coronado is another non-profit animal welfare group committed to helping pets in need. Founded in 2003, PAWS is run by a team of passionate volunteers and provides adoption services to the animals in the Coronado Animal Care Facility. It gives these stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals the care and medical services they need, and then finds them loving homes in the local community.

PAWS is working towards a future where every lost, stray, and abandoned animal is able to find its forever home. To help make that dream a reality, it is always on the lookout for volunteers and financial support.
