Drool in the Pool
If your dog loves to swim, you won’t want to miss out on the Drool in the Pool nights at the Cody Park swimming pool in North Platte! During the Drool in the Pool events, your dog can swim, splash, and play with other local dogs. There will be tennis balls for chasing, too.
During this doggy swimming event, humans will not be allowed to swim. Admission is just $1 per dog.
This event is held each September on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5 pm to 7 pm. There will also be a swim time on the Saturday after the Doggy Dash 5k and Mile event from 10:30 am to 3 pm.

Twilight 5k and Family Mile and Dog Walk
Each June, Adams Bank and Trusts hosts the Twilight 5k and Family Mile and Dog Walk Event. For the first time, this event will be held at the new Lake Maloney Trails!
Check-in begins at 6:30 pm and the Family Mile and Dog Walk starts at 7:45 pm. The 5k follows.
Registration prices are $25 per person for the 5k race and just $15 per person for the Family Mile and Dog Walk. Online registration will open closer to the event date. All proceeds benefit the North Platte Pet Food Pantry and Adopt a Backpack NP. Registration includes a t-shirt.

Doggy Dash 5k and Mile
Join Community Connections of Lincoln County for the annual Doggy Dash 5k and Mile event on a Saturday in September in Cody Park. This doggy 5k race was made specifically for the dogs of the area to get out and enjoy the weather and some exercise!
All dogs must be on a leash that is 6-feet or shorter. No retractable leashes will be allowed. Pooches must stay leashed throughout the event. More details will be available as the event date approaches.
Children are invited to participate in the mile “Puppy Run.”
Registration fees will be released closer to the date of the event. Online registration will also be available as the event date nears.

Waggin’ Tails Bark Park

While there aren’t many dog parks in the area, Waggin’ Tails Bark Park is special, because it is two full acres of fenced-in area for dogs to run and play!
Waggin’ Tails Bark Park has two separate areas. One is for small dogs and the other is for large dogs. This helps keep animals safe during play time.
The park also contains water fountains for both dogs and humans, and benches for people to sit on while their dogs play.
