In addition to a number of things to do in the area, there are some outstanding organizations as well! For example, Marin Humane is a group that serves Marin County as a whole and focuses on not only rescuing animals in need but also on finding them the perfect fur-ever homes for their specific personalities and health needs.
Another fine organization that provides plenty of happy wags on the way to new homes is Jessica's Haven, where volunteers work together to rehabilitate and rehome amazing pups for their new families. How is this accomplished? With lots of love and some of the most caring and amazing staff members you could ever meet!
In nearby San Francisco, there is another rescue that is gaining quite a bit of praise. Wonder Dogs Animal Rescue has been rehoming lost pups for over 26 years! That amazing record has led to the rehabilitation and rehoming of thousands of homeless animals and they plan to save thousands more before they are done.
No matter where you go in Marin County, you're going to find plenty of animal lovers who want nothing more than to help the many homeless and injured dogs that they happen to come across - and that makes for a lot of wagging tails!
Don't forget to take part in some of the great mini-events they have available, like the many workshops and contests on-site! The event is a great way to not only spend some time with your favorite pooch, but also to help out other homeless furbabies in need, as much of the proceeds will go to supporting the local rescues of the area.
Grab a tour and head out to see the northern bay, or take a ride across for the next baseball game you attend! They even have kayak tours, though we'd suggest taking those without your pawsitively awesome furbaby, as they may not be very comfortable in a kayak with you. No matter which you choose, you and your fur-ever buddy are sure to have a great time!
There are plenty of points of interest along the trail, which is entirely dog-friendly (leashed only) and offers views of the USS SF Memorial and El Camino del Mar. Remember to bring along a camera or your phone, as you'll want to get some amazing shots of the views! You and your furbaby will love this trail and all it has to offer.
Don't forget to get some tips on other dog-friendly wineries to add to your travel plans, because these folks know quite a few! You and your fur-ever friend are guaranteed to have a pawsome time!
This event is so inclusive that you can even bring your human children! Jog with your stroller, walk with the whole family, trot along with your furbabies, and have a great time doing it. Be sure to enjoy the many mini-activities that will be available as well!
