Santa Paws at Mutts Cantina
Each December, Santa Paws heads over to Mutts Cantina in Uptown Dallas for a day with the dogs. From 11 am to 2 pm on a Sunday in early December, Santa Paws will be around for professional family photos with the four-legged members of your household. Photos are free for Mutt’s Cantina members and only $5 for non-members.
The Humane Society of Dallas County’s Dog and Kitty City Shelter will be at the event with adoptable dogs looking for a new home in time for Christmas!
After you get a photo taken, enjoy the food and play that are offered at Mutts. Your dog will love the large dog park areas, and humans enjoy adult beverages and great food.

Pups in the Park
Join the City of Southlake every July for an evening of dog-filled fun at Booboo’s Buddies Community Dog Park. The evening includes 100 percent dog-friendly activities, such as paw print art and a puppy photo booth.
During the event, there will be a raffle where you can win great gifts like free wellness exams, grooming gift certificates, and more! To enter the raffle, all you need to do is bring an item to donate to the Keller Regional Adoption Center.
The event runs from 5 pm and 8 pm, and your dog will have full access to the dog park during the event!

Oktoberfest Wiener Dog Race
Each year during the Southlake Oktoberfest celebration, there is an Oktoberfest Wiener Dog Race! Prior to the race, there is also a costume contest, so dress your doxie up in his or her best outfit in the hope of winning a poocherific prize.
Only the first 200 dogs to register can take part in the race, so pre-registration is highly encouraged. All dogs must check-in for the race by 9 am. The costume contest starts at 9:15 am and the actual race starts at 10.
All dogs entering the race should be 100 percent Dachshund and be up to date on vaccinations.
After the race, all attendees are welcome to participate in the Oktoberfest parade!

Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas Fall Picnic
Every November, join the Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas for their annual Fall Picnic event! Bring your dog of any breed for an afternoon of great BBQ and cute pooches. The picnic at Skyline Ranch includes games and activities for the whole family, including dogs and children!
For just $10 per person, enjoy a lunch of chicken, brisket, sides, dessert, and a drink. The picnic starts at noon and ends at 3 pm.
While the event is hosted by the Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas, all dog breeds are welcome and even encouraged to the attend the event.

Dog Days of Denton
For more than 20 years, the city of Denton has hosted a Dog Days Celebration each October to celebrate dogs, of course! The event is typically held on the first Saturday of October. Join other local pups and their people for a day of fun with arts, crafts, games, entertainment, demonstrations, talent contests, and more. Dress up your dog for a chance to win the costume contest, or hang out and watch the doggy fashion show. You also won’t want to miss the chance to get “Glamfur” shots of your dog from a professional photographer!
All canines must remain leashed and have up-to-date vaccinations.
