The shelter is not affiliated with any city, county, state, or national organizations- all of their financial support comes from fundraising, grants, and the generosity of donors! The Humane Society of North Bay, formerly known as the Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society, has a contract with the City of Vallejo to accept all stray and rescued pets taken in by Solano County Animal Control. For the duration of their stay at the shelter, the homeless animals of Vallejo receive refuge, nourishment, compassionate care, veterinary services, and vaccinations until their eventual adoption into permanent, loving homes.
The shelter even operates a foster program for pets who may be too young, ill, or poorly socialized to be ready for adoption. Ultimately, the humane society is dedicated to finding every pet a responsible, loving forever home, thus strengthening the local community. Services offered for the pets and people of Vallejo include animal adoptions, microchipping, a lost pet return program, dog licensing, and a low-cost spay/neuter voucher program.
The Humane Society of North Bay sets no time limits of the duration of an animal's stay and will never euthanize pets to create space. Instead, they foster a partnership with the local community to advocate the importance of spaying/neutering, encourage the adoption of shelter animals, and promote responsible pet ownership.

Entrance to the event is free and a portion of proceeds benefit the animals at the Humane Society of North Bay.
