2nd Annual Wayne County Bark Ball
In February, join the Wayne County Dog Shelter for their annual Bark Ball! This is their largest fundraiser of the year and you surely don't want to miss out. All of the proceeds from this event go to the shelter's medical fund to help save dog's lives. The Bark Ball will take place on February 10th from 5:30 pm-9:30 pm at the Shisler Conference Center in Wooster, Ohio. There will be a silent auction, food, drinks, and much more. Although dogs are not allowed at this event, it is a very special night for local dog lovers and the shelter as it saves so many local dog's lives. We had to include it!

Pet Safety and Preparedness Fair
During June, take your pup and attend this super fun pet safety fair at the Wayne County Dog Shelter! There will be a ton of dog-centered vendors, yummy doggie treats, a pet spa, pet caricatures, K9 demonstrations, frozen yogurt, and more! We recommend treating your special friend to a pup cup of frozen yogurt. Of course, dogs are welcome to attend with you, as this event is for them! Only friendly and non-agressive dogs allowed. They must be leashed at all times. Proceeds will go to the dog shelter.

Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk
In October, at Oak Hill Park in Wooster join in on the fun and attend this Halloween event with your dog! It costs just $5 per dog. There will be a spooktacular doggie costume contest, refreshments, and snacks for both humans and dogs. The top 3 winners of the costume contest will win a special prize. There will also be a dog walk through the beautiful Oak Hill Park as well. It is a great socialization event for your pooch to meet some new friends. Plus, all of the proceeds will go to helping the dogs at the Wooster Dog Rescue!

Santa Paws Open House
This event takes place on a specified date in December and is a much anticipated annual event for pups and their families. Head on over to the Wayne County Dog Rescue building for special Christmas photos of your favorite fur baby an Santa Clause. This is a free event and photography is done by H&R Fotostudio. There will also be an array of local vendors that have tons of dog-related items and a delicious bake sale for some tasty treats, plus free refreshments. You can also browse and meet some of the adorable dogs for adoption that day as well. Adoptions fees are rediced for the day!
