“Dogs are my favorite people!”
Hi there! I am committed to you and your pets receiving the best while in my care. I have been volunteering with animals for many years. I spend 2 days a week at a local animal shelter, caring for and evaluating companion animals for adoption. I have experience with many breeds and all sizes. I do not have a favorite breed, I love them all! I enjoy being outdoors and taking my own dogs for hikes around the Sierras and Foothills. I look forward to meeting you and your pets.

“Happy dogs ... happy people! That’s my goal”
My name is Kathy, I have taught preschool for over 10 years. I am married. We have 5 and 5 grandchildren. We have had big dogs, little dogs. And now the recent addition of an English Bulldog puppy. We walk everyday and go to the dog park as often as we can. I am available on a daily basis. I have a lot of experience working with young children (ages 1-5) so I think I'm a pretty patient person and that this quality would be helpful with dogs since they're a lot like kids!

Hi dog parents! My name is Hope, and I’m a professional ballet dancer and animal lover. Growing up, I always was surrounded by animals, and I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. When I was a kid, I was raised by miniature poodles, chihuahuas, a yorkie, a German shepherd/ great Dane mix, a Boston terrier, and three staffies/bully breeds. I love exercise, nature, and the sun, and I’m excited to walk even the largest or highest-energy pup!

Hello my name is Cliff and own a Sibarian Huskey, I love walking dogs, I treat them as like they are my own dog, but I will absolutely not walk a dog that will extremely overly pull during a walk, I say that for my safety and especially for the dogs safety for that dog can choke on leash or even worse.

Auburn, California may be known for its California Gold Rush History, but that reputation is quickly going to the dogs. No, literally! Auburn is quickly becoming one of the top dog spots in northern Cali. Not only does it provide you and your pup with plenty of outdoor activities because of the glorious weather and environment, but it also is progressively growing its supply of dog-friendly and dog-encouraged restaurants, bars, parks, and more!
Much of this dog-friendly vibe has to do with the number of shelters that either are located in Auburn or serve the Auburn area.
One of the most popular shelters, the Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills, is well-known for enforcing California's anti-cruelty laws that help protect animals from abuse and neglect. They foster homeless animals, help find adoptive families for pups, and work to educate the public on pet ownership and protection.
Just a few miles south-west of Auburn is another popular shelter that serves the Sacramento and Auburn areas. The Sacramento SPCA is an open admission, no-kill animal shelter that's dedicated to providing medical care, adoptions for pets, partnerships with rescue groups, and community education.
Looking for an excuse to get out with your pup to meet other pooches and pawrents, while bonding with your own good boy? How about an excuse with a good deed attached to it? The annual Doggy Dash held by the Sacramento SPCA is a yearly dogapalooza that features a 5k or 2k doggy dash followed by a Bark in the Park event that puts most dog festivals to shame. Come check out all the fun with your furry buddy by your side this April!
Come one, come all to one of the best SPCAs best events - Yappy hour! You and your pup can enjoy monthly yappy hours at a revolving door of breweries, bars, and restaurants. We're talking tons of friendly pups, pawrents, and of course, lots of beer and appetizers! Don't miss out on special themed nights, and of course, all proceeds will help benefit SPCA of Sacramento! Wet your whistle for a good cause with your pooch by your side!
Do you have yourself a fancy pooch who loves a classy party? Then you won't want to miss the annual SPCA Fall Gala. This event is set up to help raise money for the SPCA pups in the Sacramento and Auburn (and surrounding) areas. Last year, the SPCA hosted a roaring 20's pawty and they went all out - we're talking flapper pooches and plenty of delicious food and drinks! Don't miss out on this years annual shin-dig. It's the perfect chance to enjoy a night with your pup while donating to a worthy cause you care about!
Pup parks are a classic attraction for any city, so it's only natural that Auburn would have some of the finest! It also has easy access to other cities parks as well. One of our favorites is the Ashley Memorial Dog Park in Auburn. This free-to-use pup paradise is a well-maintained, shaded, fun pup-play area that provides pooches of all sizes with their own space to romp around and enjoy life! What's better? Plans are in the works to add on more to this fun pup park! Soon, the park will have an agility course and a pond for pups to splash around in.
If you've got yourself an adventure pooch who can't keep his tail off the trails, we've got a spot for you! The Hidden Falls Regional Trail is a pup-friendly hike that will keep you and your pooch entertained for hours. With well-maintained trails, lots of open space, and rushing waterfalls, it's the ultimate haven to get away to with your four-legged friend. Don't forget to keep your pooch leashed, though!
