Hello I'm Ariel, I have live with Animals all my life and I have to say dogs are my favorite animals! I started learning dog training when I was 12 years old before then I was reading any dog book I could find. To this day I still think it was the best class I have taken as it helped me understand my childhood dog Callisto better and has helped with many other dogs. I have lived with a taken care of dogs of different sizes, ages and temperaments and have found that patience and listening to body language is the key to making good friends man or beast.

Hi my name is Elijah, I’m 20 from Sacramento. I live in Los Angeles for school. In my lifetime I’ve had about 10 dogs in all shapes and sizes and I’ve taken care of them all by myself since I was a little kid. Unfortunately I don’t get to see the three dogs I have now at home often since I am away for school but I feel like this is a great opportunity to do something I love.

Howdy, I'm Evan! I've had a lifelong love of dogs, getting my first pup, a boston terrier/australian shepherd mix, at the age of 5. Since then I've had the pleasure of owning big dogs and little dogs of various temperaments, and trained a few to boot! I've pet-sat for friends and family many times, and I've always left those puppers just as happy and healthy as they were when the owner left. I can't wait to meet your furry friend and help them get the exercise they need and deserve!

Dog Boarding in Citrus Heights

Haven Dog Rescue is a non-profit and all-volunteer based dog rescue that serves the Citrus Heights, CA community. They don't just save homeless pets, but they also work with them to regain their trust in humans. All of their dogs go into foster homes until they find their forever families and there is no actual shelter facility. They generally get their dogs from families who can no longer care for their dog or they save dogs from euthanization from local kill animal shelters.

Haven Dog Rescue also fully relies on the help and support of the community to keep their special dog rescue up and running. Therefore, they host a variety of community adoption events throughout the year, do dog meet-and-greets, have foster and fundraising drives, and encourage members from the community to either donate to the shelter or volunteer and foster a dog in need.

Another popular local shelter is the Placer SPCA. Since 1973, they have helped an average of 4,000 cats and dogs per year. That's a ton of lives saved! Their values include adaptability, compassion to all, education and awareness, integrity, responsible stewardship, and safety of animals, staff, and the community as a whole.

Community plays a very important role for the Placer SPCA as well. They provide a multitude of innovative programs that aim to better animal well-being and improve the adoptability of animals. They also host tons of special, dog-centered events throughout the year like pictures with Santa during the holiday season, Barktoberfest for Halloween, Woof Wine & Dine, and so much more. All events they put on go directly to their shelter to help save and care for their animals.
