I have been working in the pet care industry for approximately seven years now. I managed a daycare and pet boarding facility for four years and prior to that, I was a Kennel Supervisor for two years with a facility located in New Hampshire. More recently, I have worked as a Vet Tech in a general practice and emergency setting, as well as with a local animal shelter. Working as a Vet Tech has provided me with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and hands on experience of the medical aspect involved in providing care to both canines and felines. I have aspired to work with animals since I was a child and have always had a true passion toward them. I have years of experience in a canine pack environment, as well as one on one with most dog breeds. I also have personal experience, as I have two rescue dogs of my own. I feel this is very important when dealing with a client's pet, as it provides the assurance that their pet is in good hands. In addition to dogs, I have grown up living with cats my whole life. I also have worked with cats in both shelter and veterinary settings. From a ferrel cat to a lap cat, I have experienced both, yet love them all the same! I can confidently medicate any animal if necessary, including pilling to providing insulin injections. My main focus is currently working in the animal care field and furthering my education with my CVT. I absolutely love working in an environment where the focus is caring for animals. My ultimate goal is to own a rescue some day. I feel as though my passion for animals and my prior experience would be a great match for you and your pet! I look forward to hearing from you regarding your furry family members' needs!

“Every dog’s different & all deserve the same love!”

I‘ve been a Wag! Walker for year & have been an avid dog lover all my life! I’ve had two very different dogs; my first was a German Shepherd named Tash, a beautiful dog with enormous strength—so rewarding to train and be around. I currently own a finicky, anxious Mini Pinscher who I adore! I know Boston well and have been around animals my entire life, so I know how to earn a dog’s trust before taking control of the leash. I believe in positive reinforcement with dogs, & I think they do too!

About Dog Training in Chelsea, MA 02150

Training Fun Fact #1:

Did you know that Bloodhounds have the best sniffer out there? Basset Hounds are right behind them in the world of scent tracking. These two breeds are just the type of dog you need if you keep losing your cell phone. They’ve got the powerful sense of smell and the determination to do the deed when you ask, “find my cellphone.” These canines are committed to any job that allows them to do what they love best!

Training Fun Fact #2:

Do you have a dog that barks before the doorbell even rings? Or do they run to the door long before their favorite person walks through it? The pawesome ability to hear is something that dogs have way above and beyond human capabilities. The Poodle is one of the top dogs when it comes to acute hearing. If their bark becomes way worse than their bite, you can teach them to bark softly!

Training Fun Fact #3:

Senior dogs deserve respect and a little extra love in their golden years. They may seem like they occasionally ignore commands, but the truth is, they may not hear you, and their cognitive skills could be on the decline. That’s not to say mature mutts don’t like to have mental and physical stimulation just as much as the new pup on the block. Consider the task of using a ramp to get in and out of the car. It’s just like doggo agility to the older set!

Average Cost of Dog Training in Chelsea, MA

No bones about it, there is lots of opportunity for dog training in Chelsea. Consider what skills are most important to you and start your research there.

If you are excited about getting your dog used to working in a pack, look for group lessons. Prices for this type of instruction average about $250 for a course over 4 to 6 weeks. In a group, your pupster will work on socialization skills and beginner commands like sit and stay. Dogs graduate from one level to the next, with the difficulty of lessons increasing at each level. Dogs love the challenge and stimulation that comes with dog training.

Sending your dog off to the trainer’s home or facility for one on one classes in a new environment is called board and train. If you can bear to be away from your canine kiddo for a week or two, or even more, this is an option. Expect to pay over $2000 for two weeks of away-from-home training.

In-home private instruction is ideal for the timid dog or the woofer with issues like aggression or fear. Individual attention is the name of the game here, and many dogs excel with this type of instruction. Focus is worked on, as is working specifically on what needs to be learned. Sessions usually last about an hour, and prices in Chelsea range from $125 to $250 per lesson.

Look to dog trainers with Wag! for an affordable and convenient way to teach your dog basic commands and more. Fun sessions for you and Fido, taught right at home, are easily booked within the Wag! app.

For just $60 per one-hour session, Chelsea dog trainers with Wag! are pleased to work with you and your pooch at a time that suits you best. Chat in-app to make a plan from start to finish and schedule a lesson when it works for you and your pupper.

Going Off-Leash in Chelsea, MA

Dogs are loved and respected in Chelsea, and well-behaved pooches are welcomed all over the city. Remember to keep Fido leashed (and therefore, safe) unless you are in an area specified as okay for off-leash fun.

Chelsea and surrounding towns have plenty of parks for busy pooches to check out. Before you go, remember to have your pup fully licensed and rabies protected, with tags clearly visible on the collar.

Is Fido ready for a day of adventure? Work on perfecting your dog’s obedience skills with a dog trainer with Wag! and practice how to meet and greet other dogs along the journey.

Make your way to nearby Boston and explore Freedom Trail. Hiking this unique trail gives history lovers a perspective of the Revolutionary War. Walk past Paul Revere’s place of rest, centuries-old pubs, and even take a guided tour with a character in period costume.

If that doesn’t tire Fido out, continue on to the Charles River Greenway. This lengthy hike can put even an experienced trekker to the test. Venture along the path at will, looking for wildlife and enjoying the views of Cambridge, sitting peacefully across the river.

To make the best of every outing with your furry BFF, brush up on skills by learning from an enthusiastic instructor. Enjoying one on one lessons in your own backyard prepares you for when you take your four-legger out into the neighborhood.

Dog Training in Chelsea, MA

What tricks and tips do you hope to learn from the dog trainer? Knowing how to have the best recall is ideal if you like to frequent dog parks where Fido has the freedom to roam.

All Chelsea dog trainers on the Wag! platform have the skills and know-how to teach your dog the basics of being an all-star obedient pooch. What types of dogs are local trainers working with these days?

The Labrador Retriever is number one with pet parents in Chelsea, and these dogs have no problem keeping up when out on a trek. They have an admirably determined streak that keeps their eye on the prize when on a mission.

Also keen on learning a new trick are the next two dogs on the list of fan faves, the Golden Retriever, and the German Shepherd. You’ll often see them at the top of the ranks in an agility or conformation competition.

The ever-adorable French Bulldog made the list in Chelsea, too. Right behind them is the Yorkshire Terrier. The Yorkie may be the smallest dog on the roster, but they can hold their own right along with dogs of a much larger size. This feisty terrier has a good set of pipes and is not afraid to use them. You’ll often see the Yorkie putting a big dog in their place just by the power of their high-pitched bark!

Connect with a dog trainer with Wag! and put your pupper on the road to canine excellence. Work alongside your in-home trainer to customize a plan that fits your dog’s needs and your schedule.
