I have been working in the pet care industry for approximately seven years now. I managed a daycare and pet boarding facility for four years and prior to that, I was a Kennel Supervisor for two years with a facility located in New Hampshire. More recently, I have worked as a Vet Tech in a general practice and emergency setting, as well as with a local animal shelter. Working as a Vet Tech has provided me with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and hands on experience of the medical aspect involved in providing care to both canines and felines. I have aspired to work with animals since I was a child and have always had a true passion toward them. I have years of experience in a canine pack environment, as well as one on one with most dog breeds. I also have personal experience, as I have two rescue dogs of my own. I feel this is very important when dealing with a client's pet, as it provides the assurance that their pet is in good hands. In addition to dogs, I have grown up living with cats my whole life. I also have worked with cats in both shelter and veterinary settings. From a ferrel cat to a lap cat, I have experienced both, yet love them all the same! I can confidently medicate any animal if necessary, including pilling to providing insulin injections. My main focus is currently working in the animal care field and furthering my education with my CVT. I absolutely love working in an environment where the focus is caring for animals. My ultimate goal is to own a rescue some day. I feel as though my passion for animals and my prior experience would be a great match for you and your pet! I look forward to hearing from you regarding your furry family members' needs!

“Every dog’s different & all deserve the same love!”

I‘ve been a Wag! Walker for year & have been an avid dog lover all my life! I’ve had two very different dogs; my first was a German Shepherd named Tash, a beautiful dog with enormous strength—so rewarding to train and be around. I currently own a finicky, anxious Mini Pinscher who I adore! I know Boston well and have been around animals my entire life, so I know how to earn a dog’s trust before taking control of the leash. I believe in positive reinforcement with dogs, & I think they do too!

About Dog Training in Medford, MA

Training Fun Fact #1:

One of the cutest designer dogs on the planet is the Flandoodle. When fully grown, they average 70 pounds in size and can have an independent streak. Being of Poodle and Bouvier des Flandres parentage, this fluffball is a smart dog and always eager to join in the fun. They require lots of exercise, and if they don’t get enough, may be prone to destruction. They love to run and are the ideal companion for running alongside you while you bike.

Training Fun Fact #2:

Boxers love to stare. It’s a personality trait that endears this expressive canine to humans. These personable dogs have a steadfast gaze that is impossible to resist. They love to use their expressions to put pressure on their owners for walks and playtime. But if they do the same thing as a way to beg, it’s time to train them that begging isn’t cool.

Training Fun Fact #3:

Has your dog ever been sprayed by a skunk? That nasty odor is one you want to avoid. Sometimes these smelly creatures take one by surprise, though, and that’s when having your dog trained to sit still for a bath comes in handy. Use a homemade wash for skunks, and you’ll have your pooch in tip-top aroma in no time.

Going Off-Leash in Medford, MA

Medford is very close to bustling Boston. But this city has a unique vibe all its own and is very dog-friendly. No doubt, you will want to get your dog trained so they can take part in some of the fun that happens in the great dog parks of Medford.

First, learn the rules of dog ownership and take care of the necessities. Dogs six months and older require a license and need to be spayed or neutered to get one. The rabies vaccine is a must, as is the case all over the United States.

Keep your dog on a leash when out and about. It’s a matter of safety for your pup, and a courtesy to others as well. If your pooch is itching for some off-leash fun, head over to neighboring Saugus to spend the afternoon at Bark Place Barking Lot at Breakheart Reservation. This is a doggone exciting place for pups, that’s for sure! The enclosure is securely fenced, and your four-legged buddy can run to their heart’s content over a space covered in wood chips and surrounded by forest.

Dog Training in Medford, MA

Medford knows how to care for both the dogs and cats in the city, and they have the animal shelters to prove it. Local dog trainers have the welfare of all pups at heart, as well, and that’s why they volunteer at local adoption centers and shelters taking care of homeless dogs. The excellent care and effort the dog trainers put in will have these special pooches ready for adoption in no time.

The knowledge learned from taking care of shelter dogs is then brought to you. What breeds are local dog trainers working with in Medford? The Labrador Retriever is always a favorite for pet parents. The perfect companion for running and climbing on hiking trails and heading on fishing expeditions, the Lab is friendly and eager to be on the go.

No less keen on activity is the German Shepherd, the ideal match for a person who puts athletics at the top of their list of favorite hobbies. This gorgeous dog has the perfect form for conformation trials and will excel. Be sure to add fun into all training sessions, like a game of Frisbee or catch.

The Yorkshire Terrier, Golden Retriever, and Boxer round out the top five roster, with every one of them having worthy and adorable qualities. They do thrive in an obedience training course and are no stranger to earning the number one spot in the class.

Are you looking to help your furry companion reach number one on the block for doggy etiquette and manners? Train alongside your pooch and a dog trainer with Wag! to form a team sure to win.
