Alcoa is a city in Tennessee that nearly 10,000 people call home. It's considered part of Nashville's metropolitan area, so you're never far from all of the big city amenities you could ever need. Alcoa was once primarily dependent on its aluminum industry, but today, it's a thriving city with plenty of things to offer everyone in your family. Parks and recreation have always been a top priority for Alcoa since it was developed. Early on, developers decided to set aside one acre of land for every 100 people who live in Alcoa.

Alcoa doesn't currently have a designated off-leash area, but there are many parks in town where your dog can join you for a walk on-leash. The Maryville-Alcoa Greenway is a scenic, multi-use trail in Alcoa, and it's one of the most beautiful places to walk your dog you could ever dream of! This nine-mile asphalt trail was created from a former railway line. When it was no longer being used, it was converted into a trail for public use, and it connects to other trails all across America. The trail takes you through parks in town, and it also links up with shopping and dining districts. Luckily, if a trip to the off-leash park is more your speed, there are paw-lenty of them just a short drive away!
