Riverside Park

The city of Scottsbluff is located not far from Western Nebraska Regional Airport, and has an amazing recreation area in the southwestern part of the city. Riverside Park, nestled on the banks of North Platte River, features its own eatery with picturesque views and a convenience store just a skip and a hop away. In addition to campgrounds and other outdoor attractions, the park has a special place for furry friends! Riverside Dog Park is a beautiful and spacious area with two separate sections for small and large pooches, and it's located right next to the zoo. What could pawssibly make the place better? We know -- lots of other canine friends and a few toys to fetch and chase! The park has drinking water, but you'll need to supply your own waste bags.

East Chadron

If you're looking for a little something different to do with your pup, you've come to the right place! Eastern Chadron is home to the Nebraska National Forest. But there's no need to roam around in the woods (unless you want to, of course!) because you can have some historic fun in Museum of the Fur Trade. It is somehow related to your fur-ry friend, right? Leashed pooches are allowed to accompany their masters inside the museum. As long as dogs are well-behaved and leashed while exploring the exhibitions, pet parents can bring as many dogs as they like! This is a furrific activity to enjoy on a rainy day.

City Center

The city of North Platte is set between North Platte and South Platte River, just off I-80. Downtown North Platte is home to plenty of shopping and dining facilities, but you and your pooch will want to head south to find the real gem. Wagging Tails Bark Park is a fully equipped dog park located in Centennial Park. Pooches are protected by a high fence and are welcome to play in a 2-acre area featuring two separate sections for small and large breeds. The place also has lots of shade, benches and water facilities. Four-legged foodies are welcome to grab a bite at The Espresso Shop by Caravan, serving traditional breakfasts and lunches with a dog-friendly attitude at outdoor tables.

West Kearney

West Kearney is almost entirely occupied by two parks and a golf course with small creeks and rivers winding in the area. Feel free to check out Meadowlark North Dog Park, adjacent to its namesake community park. This is a huge dog park with seating for owners and tons of off-leash fun for pooches. Mostly covered in grass, the area has a few dirt spots, a doggie pool, and a hose to wash your mutt’s paws off. Make sure to bring some drinking water with you.
