In 1856, Ambler, Pennsylvania was the site of a great train wreck which killed 59 people and injured dozens more. At the time, it was known as one of the worst train wrecks in history. A woman named Mary Johnson Ambler, who lived in the area, walked two miles from her home every day to provide supplies and assist those who were hurt. She even turned her home into a hospital. It was after this self-sacrificing woman that Ambler took its name when the settlement was officially incorporated. The loving, caring attitude can be seen in the way that the town cares for its animals. This small town has six vets within the city limits.

It's also home to some furrific recreational spaces for you and Fido to explore. Ambler Borough Park is a great family park where you can peacefully walk your dog. You'll both enjoy spending a quiet moment in nature together as you venture over the footbridges and down the paths along the quiet stream. There are also playgrounds for both toddlers and bigger kids.

Pen Ambler Park has a great running trail that takes you through some nice shaded areas. You can take your dog with you as long as you keep him on his leash. You can also bring your kids with you to play on the playground. There are public restrooms and picnic areas for everyone to enjoy.

Ambler is the pawfect place for dog owners looking for a tight, close-knit community!
