There is a separate fenced area for small dogs. There are double gates for extra security. Human companions have two covered shelters (also called “ramadas”) with benches to sit on while supervising their dogs. The dog park supplies running water and waste bags. A few trees inside the dog park provide dogs and their people some shade on hot days. The main park offers many open spaces for more on-leash exercise and exploration.

The city of Glendale is 28 miles south of Anthem. Foothills Dog Park is located at 19021 N. 57th Avenue. Foothills Dog Park is divided into the East and West sides. Each of the sides has two enclosures. The city shuts down one side monthly on a rotating basis for maintenance. This dog park has many amenities that allow a dog eager to get free of the leash and run awhile. Agility equipment is placed on the Eastside enclosure. The ground of the dog park is a mixture of grass and dirt. The dog park features water, pooper scoopers, and waste bags. Benches are placed around the dog park. A couple of the benches are covered.

The topography of the dog park makes it difficult to grow grass. Therefore, most of the ground of the dog park is red dirt and dust. The dog park is accessible for wheelchairs, and also has water fountains designed for people and their dogs. There are covered benches for the human companions. This dog park is closed on Thursday mornings for maintenance. Chaparral Dog Park is another great option, located at the southeast corner of Hayden and McDonald Drive. This 3-acre dog park is the most pawpular in all of Scottsdale! It has three separate enclosures for dogs to play off leash. Water, waste bags, and places for people to sit are provided.
