At first glance, Arrington, Virginia doesn't seem to have much going on. It is a quiet community where you can sit back and read a book in peace and quiet. The community does have a trail and park, but no dog parks. So why should pet lovers head here?

We're glad you asked! Arrington is home to a unique store called the SPCA Thrift Store and Adoption Center.  Not only is this the base for Virginia Paws for Pits, which gives hope to the "Bully breed," but it also gives locals and visitors a way to help support the SPCA. The thrift store has a ton of pet supplies, including beds and toys. It also has a pet-friendly yard and eBay center. Bring your dog, on a leash, if you want to help out or just grab some new goodies.

Rails-to-Trails has established The Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Trail here as well. This is an on-leash trail that follows the old rail line, but it is a nice walk to enjoy nature in. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after on this trail.

With all the choices of dog-friendly places to stay while in town, you are sure to have a furtastically good vacation when you visit. After all, with a good pair of hiking shoes and a long leash, you can your dog can explore anything together!

Apocalypse Ale Works is a great place to enjoy a cold one! This alehouse is known for its custom brews. It also supplies its creations to local restaurants as well as other places across Virginia. The best part is, you can bring your pup along while you try something new! They don't serve food, but you're welcome to bring your own.
