Dog Areas in Audubon Park

Audubon Park is a tiny borough of about one thousand people. It has the best of small-town charm that is close to every kind of amenity a person with a pup could want. No veterinarians work within the borough's boundaries. Nevertheless, no pup suffers because any kind of veterinary care is within a short drive away.

Philadelphia is only eight miles to the west of the borough. Many opportunities exist for some healthy outdoor excursions. Audubon Park is located in Camden County, which maintains twenty-one parks for both residents and visitors to enjoy.

Haddon Lake Park is one such county park and is located four miles east of Audubon Park. It features over seventy acres of recreational space. People appreciate the many opportunities to get out and stretch with a leashed canine companion. Haddon has a 1.72-mile bike path, a 1.6-mile cross country trail, and a pretty and relaxing loop walking path around the lake. A gazebo and picnic sites give person and pup a chance to stop and take a break.

Another option for some exercise is the Knight Park Playground in Collingswood. Collingswood adjoins Audubon Park on the west. Its Knight Park and Playground attracts visitors from all over with its seventy acres of green space. The walking paths in the park are a favorite for people looking to get outside with their leashed furry family member.

Medford is located eighteen miles east of Audubon Park. Freedom Dog Park truly lives up to its name! This dog park has twenty acres set aside so dogs can throw off the leash and run with other canine friends. This dog park is not completely fenced. Unfortunately, not all pups will be prepared for this extreme dog park experience -- their human friend will have to have good voice control. Also, the all dogs of every imaginable size play together here. It is a zero-tolerance zone for aggressive behavior!  A water station at the dog park entrance keeps both people and pups hydrated. The forested area makes for some beautiful hiking for people too.
