The city of Aurora in Portage County, Ohio, is located 27 miles southeast of Cleveland, and is a great spot to stop by with your dog.

Your first port of call has to be the free Tails ‘n Trails Dog Park at Sunny Lake Park. There are two fenced areas, one for small dogs and one for the larger breeds, with some play features, running water and waste bags provided. You can relax on one of the benches while you supervise your playful pup. Outside the dog park, Sunny Lake Park has a paved 0.75-mile trail where you can pop Fido back on a lead and go for a nice walk together. There are even more trails at the Sunny Lake Park – North End, as well as picnic tables and grills, playgrounds and a memorial tree garden to seek out here, so you are sure to have a fantastic day out!

If you are hungry while out and about in town, Aurora has four dog-friendly restaurants to try. The Mason Jar Grill and Pub, and Mad Jack’s Grill and Pub will fix you up with classic American-style meals washed down with a cold drink of choice. 1815 Tavern has a historic name, contrasted with a more modern selection of meals that aim to highlight the abundance of the quality local produce in the area. Café Toscana is a casual eatery that serves up an array of classic Italian meals. All of these places welcome dogs at one of their outdoor tables.
