The city of Baytown, Texas was originally three separate towns. The citizens started talking about combining the three towns shortly after World War I. The townspeople agreed upon this merge and the new town was officially established in January of 1948.

Today, Baytown is a doggie heaven! There are several restaurants where you and your canine friend can dine in Baytown. Schlotzsky’s is a local favorite, and welcomes you to bring your pooch with you. They serve pasta, wraps, salads and other classic lunch items. There are four dog-friendly tables outside where you and your furry friend can enjoy a meal together.

Baytown is also home to a couple of pawesome dog parks! One of these is the Baytown Bark Park, located on Market Street. This 5-acre park is available to small dogs as well as larger dogs. One acre is dedicated to the smaller breeds, and the other 4 acres are reserved for larger dogs. If you're looking for a quiet, on-leash stroll, there are walking trails for you and your pooch to explore, as well as agility equipment for your furry friend to enjoy. Seating, shade, and water fountains are also provided.

This pawesome neighborhood has a friendly dog park for you and your pooch to visit. The W. L. Jenkins Bark Park is a huge park that is fully fenced in. The surface area is mainly grass and there are several trees for shade. The park has a small section for smaller dogs, and the other portion of the park is for larger breeds. A few things to keep in mind: you can't bring a dog younger than 4 months to this park, and your pooch needs to be on a leash when arriving at the park and when leaving. There are water fountains available and waste stations to make cleaning up easier. You can sit on the benches and watch your furry friend enjoy the agility equipment. Another great feature of this park is that there is a path around the outer edge where you and your leashed pooch can take a stroll and enjoy the lovely scenery.
