Timber Creek Park is just over eight miles from Berlin, but you’d need to be barking mad not to take the trip! At nine acres, the park is one of the largest in the area -- there’s plenty of room for your fur-ball to leap about and burn off their excess energy. There’s even a wooded area with trails to sniff and explore, and a creek for swimming -- keep in mind, though, that the creek isn’t fenced, so you might want to keep a close eye on your little tearaway! Bags and water are provided, but there’s no separate small dog area, so be mindful of your pup’s temperament.

Centennial Blvd
Connolly Dog Park is just a fifteen minute drive from Berlin, so it’d be a huge faux paw not to check it out! Unlike the Timber Creek Park, this one has a separate fenced area for small dogs, so your pooch can play and socialise no matter their size. There’s also plenty of seating for tired owners, so you can take a load off if you feel like your pup has been walking you! The dog run is shaded by large, mature trees, making this an excellent choice for a hot day, and bags and water are provided.

Wharton State Forest
If you and your pooch are looking to get back to nature, Wharton State Forest is a perfect place to do it! This pawesome preserve is the largest forest in the entire state of New Jersey. The park is so huge that some of the more remote campsites can only be reached by canoe! Needless to say, there are miles of trails here for you and your buddy to sniff and explore, ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. Hike a section of the Batona Trail to Apple Pie Hill and you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views over the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Remember to bring bags and water!

Freedom Barks Dog Park in Medford is a real mutts-visit! The park is absolutely huge -- there are several large, open fields for your fur baby to run around and tire themselves out in, or for a spirited game of catch or tug-of-war! Freedom Barks isn’t a traditional fenced dog run -- there are trees that serve as a border, but no double-gated area. Nevertheless, the wooded hiking trails, swimming creek, and the sheer amount of space make this park a pup’s paradise! There are plenty of waste stations with bags, but there’s no water fountain -- you’ll need to bring your own bottle.

No bones about, a treat from K9 Kakes Pet Boutique and Bakery in Sicklerville is sure to make your buddy sit up and beg! All their dog treats are baked in-house, and the smell is enough to make even an owner’s mouth water. You can get a grab bag of treats with a selection of goodies -- the carob cookies seem to be a favorite of local pooches. Of course, owners deserve treats, too!
