Located in eastern Boone is Rutherwood, which is home to Wautauga Dog Park. This spacious dog park, which spans nearly four acres, is completely fenced in, allowing your dog to run around off of his leash and you to stay confident he’s not going anywhere. There are three separate areas so that your dog can play and feel comfortable with dogs his own size; there’s also a section for dogs who aren’t as well-socialized. Waste disposal bags and water are provided for your pooch. This park does require a pass, which can be purchased at the Wautauga Humane Society.
