Bridgeview has branded itself The Balanced Community, and that’s true in the ways it has created a balance between providing its citizens with access to natural resources while meeting the needs of its commercial, industrial and residential sectors. Happily, it’s pet-friendly too, allowing dogs in all city parks provided they are leashed and controlled. And in Bridgeview, there are enough parks to make any dog-lover and his pup pawsitively happy.

Several city parks lie within the limits of Bridgeview and all offer features that would interest any woofer. The Commissioners Park is in the village center, and is a peaceful oasis of green lawn and surrounding trees. It features a walking path around the perimeter for exercise, plus several shaded benches for hanging out. It is adjacent to a large pond, and Canada geese are frequent visitors during their migratory season. Perfect for barking and chasing, on leash, of course. Woof-derful!

If all this walking and chasing are making you and Fido hungry, trot over to Culver’s, a dog-friendly restaurant serving burgers and fries, frozen custard and soups, salads as well as more hearty fare. Your fur-pup is welcome to join you at the outside tables. Bone appetit!
