The village of Brookfield, in Cook County, Illinois, is a lovely place to visit with your furry friend. Formerly known as Grossdale, Brookfield is set against Salt Creek and has some picturesque spots to take Fido for a stroll.

The Oak Savannas are a little oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia, where you and your pet can get some exercise amongst impressive-looking trees. You may also see some of the local inhabitants; duck, beavers and even deer are regularly spotted here. You will need to keep pooch on leash to protect the wildlife, but it’s a must-see if you are in town.

In the northern area of Brookfield, you will find the Kiwanis Park. There is plenty of space and trails to walk around, as well as disk golf and a playground. Set along Salt Creek in another section of Brookfield’s famous Oak Savanna, it is sure to be a relaxing, fun day out for you and your pooch. There are amenities here too, such as toilets, water fountains, lots of parking and ample shade.

There is one vet in town at Brookfield, should the need arise, and the streets are nice and quiet – perfect for morning walks to take in the sights and find your feet.
