Buford is a city in Georgia located in both Gwinnett and Hall counties. While the downtown area offers striking shopping and cultural opportunities for families and tourists, the true fun happens outside the central area. Public parks, quiet spots for fishing and some hiking trails are gathered around Lake Lanier, about 15 minutes west of downtown. But do not restrict yourself to Buford. The vicinity is also dog-friendly, with plenty of pet-friendly restaurants and about 10 veterinary clinics.

Buford Dam Park is a wonderful and serene riverfront park at the eastern border of Buford. Featuring beaches, picnic spots and an abundance of recreation facilities, the park is a wonderful place to explore with Fido and catch up with some exercises. However, if you need a natural hidden spot remote from everyone, Lower Overlook is the pawfect place. Quiet and small, the park has several walking paths, including the Laurel Ridge Trailhead, and magnificent places for fishing! Pooches welcome to join their parents on-leash.

You can always come back to the city center for a bite or a great feast in Tannery Row Ale House, a historic brewery with craft beer and BBQ. Leashed doggie diners are welcome at the outdoor seating area!
