Located in San Mateo County, Burlingame is a coastal city that sits on the San Francisco Peninsula. The city is commonly referred to as “the city of trees” because of the large number of trees located within the city, and the numerous eucalyptus groves that Burlingame has. Since Burlingame is sitting on the beautiful San Francisco coast, it is the perfect spot to take Fido for a weekend adventure or even a fun day out.

Burlingame is filled with a whopping 18 parks that your dog can enjoy and explore. Be sure to check out Pershing Park which has a great walking path and a nice area to play fetch with your dog or Ryder Court Park which gives you an amazing view of the ocean.

Burlingame has three veterinarians that you can take your pup to for a healthy checkup. Since Burlingame is located so close to a beach and San Francisco itself, it is a great place to grab a hotel and spend a weekend lounging with your pup. Hotels like Crown Plaza San Francisco Airport, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, and Doubletree by Hilton San Francisco Airport are just a few of the dog friendly hotels you can check into.

Bayside Dog Exercise Park is a fantastic park on the coast to take your dog to for a fun day out. The park is ¾ of an acre, and is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The park has a sitting area for owners, water and water bowls for dogs, plus a shaded area so dogs can relax and cool down. There are two parks to separate large dogs and small dogs from playing together, and both parks offer plenty of space to run around. Beware that this dog park is located right by the San Francisco Airport, so if your dog is skittish of loud sounds, he may not like the park.
