Can you imagine vast wilderness as far as the eye can see, beautiful countryside with wildlife like you have never imagined, not a house in sight? That is what the first settlers saw when they came to Burton, Michigan. Maybe that's why it only took a year for the settlement to really take hold. Today, this is an area that loves its pets; after all, there are plenty of groomers around. You won't find a lot of parks within Burton itself, but there are plenty of recreation opportunities nearby, as well as three vet clinics right in town.
While you're here, you have to stop by the Wolverine Trail. It is part of the Rails-to-Trails system. That means you can count on it to be a clean, safe environment where you and your dog can take a walk and share a quiet moment together. You might even meet other pet parents along the way!
If you want to grab a bite to eat, check out Halo Burger. This cozy spot has an assortment of burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches that are fresh and delicious. You can even get an old-fashioned shake. The best part is that there are three pet-friendly tables so that your dog can eat with you.
Burton, Michigan is a city that's really gone to the dogs! (We mean that in the best way pawssible, of course.)
