Butler, Indiana is a historical city. In times past, it was the midway point for many railroad destinations, so the townspeople always enjoyed the latest news, fashion, and fare. It was an exciting place because there were always a variety of people coming and going. The railroad is long gone, but this cozy city is still a happenin' place, pawticularly for dog owners!
Maxton Park is a family-friendly park with a small playground. There is plenty of parking for the ballfields. There seems to always be something going on, from fundraisers to community sales, in this large open area. You can bring your dog with you to run and play as long as you keep her on a leash.
Mason Park and Hathaway Park are both playgrounds where you can bring your children to play while you walk your fur-baby. There are restrooms and water fountains, but you will need to bring a water dish for your pup.
Southside Park is the largest of the four parks. It has several ball fields, a large playground, and a walking trail. It is pet-friendly so you can bring your dog with you to watch the little guys play ball. The water stations here are complete with a doggie bowl, and trash cans with doggie waste bags are also provided here.
