At its founding, like so many other cities on the east coast, Capeville, Virgina was a place for trade. Because the city is centrally located, it was in prime position to receive goods via the rail line or the ferry. There was so much going on that it would be hardly recognized as the sleepy town that it is today, but this city has preserved its history fairly well.
The peace that seems to flow through this place makes it one of the friendliest places to just come and walk with your pal alongside you. As part of unincorporated Cape Charles, Capeville doesn't have much to see on its own. However, take a short drive to Cape Charles, just five to ten miles, and you will find lots to see and do.
Take the time to visit the great outdoors at Keptopeke State Park. This park has buildings that date back to the early days. You and your family (that includes the furry members!) can come take a walk through history and along beautiful trails here. You can also go fishing and explore hiking trails. Boating ramps add to the fun activities here. Stay for the day, or come for the weekend. This is a great getaway spot.
