Carson City has been the capital of Nevada since 1864, and has always given people the best of city life and outdoor adventures. From a thriving downtown to numerous hiking, parks, and 9 animal hospitals, Carson City couldn't be friendlier to the dog residents of the city.
The Fuji Dog Park has all the scenic views of the desert. The park is made up of a sandy terrain, with 5 acres enclosed by a fence for off-leash romp and play. The park has some exercise equipment, a swimming hole, and grilling area! Pups will also enjoy benches, clean-up stations and filled water bowls.
On the west side of the town lies the Snyder Meadows State Park, the best option out there for some rough outdoor walking. The park is extensive, with hundreds of acres of mountain views, lake sights, and miles of trails. Fido is welcome in the park, but must remain on a leash shorter than 6 feet.
The city even has some urban parks, like the Centennial Park that has a lush green landscape that gives a beautiful contrast to the desert scenery. This 59-acre dog-friendly park has rolling green fields, recreational ballparks, and picnic shelters. Owners will have to bring water, clean-up bags and keep their dog on a leash at all times.
Still not enough? That's alright, because Carson City is a gold mine for dog-friendly activities. Come check them out!
