Sitting in the Surface Creek Valley beneath the Grand Mesa lies the town of Cedaredge. Known for being an agricultural community, this small town still attracts a lot of tourists because of the Cedaredge Golf Club and the Historic Pioneer Town. With two veterinarians, your dog will be in good hands while the two of you are hanging around Cedaredge.

Trickle Park is a dogtastic open park that offers both developed and undeveloped land that you and Fido can explore. Grab a campsite and spend a few nights under the stars, or just go for the day and have a good hike around the park. 

Get a good hike in on the Crag Crest Trail. This trail will take you through the Grand Mesa National Forest for about 9.6-miles, and features an elevation gain of 1.627-feet with a loop style route. The trail offers a beautiful view of the mesa, but make sure when you are hiking to keep your dog on a leash the entire time.

The Cedaredge Town Park has so many great amenities, your dog will be jumping for joy to visit it. Enjoy the picnic area, playground, huge grass area, and shade shelters that the park provides. There is a huge walking trail around the park that the two of you can use for a nice walk. Make sure that while you are visiting, your dog stays on a leash, and you bring your clean-up bags and water along with you. Make sure your dog likes company when you visit this park, as it holds a lot of events for the town.

Take a hike along the Mesa Lakes Trail with your pup by your side. The trail is 2.8-miles long with a 396-foot elevation gain and a loop style route type. This trail is an easy one to hike and perfect for any level of hiker. You will hike through the Grand Mesa National Forest where you will come across the Mesa Lakes. If you and Fido don't want to leave the trail, the Jumbo Campground and Spruce Grove Campground are nearby where the two of you can spend a night or two under the stars. This pawsome trail is located in Mesa, and about twenty miles out of Cedaredge.

Head over to the Skyway Ski Trailhead and get a good hike in with your pup. The trail is 5.1-miles long with a small elevation gain of 196-feet in a loop route. The trail will take you through the Grand Mesa National Forest where you will be covered by trees while you hike. Your dog needs to remain on a leash when you are exploring this trail, and make sure to bring water along with you. Make sure to keep an eye on your pup while hiking since the trail is popular among local skiers and it snows on the trail.

Go explore the Flowing Park Reservoir Trail and have a great hike with your four-legged friend. The trail is 14-miles long with a loop style route type. The trails overlook the Fran Junction and circles the rim of the mesa, giving you and Fido amazing views while you are out on the trail. The trail is popular among other hikers and bicyclist, so make sure your dog wants to socialize when you go out. This dogtastic trail is located in Eckert, and only four miles out of Cedaredge, making it a great hike to go and try out one day with your dog.

Head out onto the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway Trail in the Grand Mesa National Forest for a great hike alongside your furry pal. The trail is 61.4-miles long with a 6,351-foot elevation gain on a point to point route.  The trail is accessible year-round and welcomes your dog to hike with you. Your pup doesn't need to be on a leash while on the trail, but make sure they are under voice command since there is a popular roadway that goes along the same trail. While hiking through the Grand Mesa National Forest, you will come across a river, plus tons of wildlife and wildflowers. Located only sixteen miles out of Cedaredge in Collbran, your dog will have a great time exploring this trail with you.
