West Centennial

Does your pup love hiking? Lace up your boots, grab her leash and head over to the Corner Mountain Trailhead. Located in the Snowy Range of Medicine Bow National Forest, this trailhead has two main loops and is the perfect place for your furry pal to enjoy nature.  Corner Mountain Loop is 2.5 miles, while Camp Loop is 1.5 miles. If your pup is feeling adventurous, follow the spur trail off of Camp Loop to Barber Lake Trail. Since drinking water is not available at the trailhead, be sure to bring enough water to keep you and your pal hydrated.

East Centennial

Sheep Mountain offers unparalleled views of the surrounding area, as well as a mountain top forest with creeks and streams. But you will have to pay the price to access such beauty; the climb to the top is steep. If you have an athletic pup with a thirst for adventure, head over to the trailhead and begin the climb. The trail is 15 miles round trip, and makes a great overnight backpacking destination. If you don’t want to go the whole distance, your pup will still have plenty of room to roam free.  Keep your eyes open for wildflowers and wildlife. And, of course, bring lots of water!

Albany

If your pup needs a healthy dose of the great outdoors, pack up your tent and head over to the Lake Owen Campground. Located in the small community of Albany, this beautiful lakeside campground is about 20 miles south of Centennial. Pet friendly campsites have great views of Lake Owen and the Snowy Range. While this is a pup-ular spot for fishing and boating, it also has some pawsome hiking. Your pup can get some exercise on the Lake Owen Trail or the Medicine Bow Rail Trail. After a day of hiking, he’ll be ready to relax by the campfire.

3rd St/ Pfe Rd

If your pup likes exploring the outdoors, but prefers sleeping indoors, book a room at one of Laramie’s pet friendly hotels. Laramie is only a 30 minute drive east of Centennial, so you still have access to the rugged beauty of the Snowy Range. For a small fee, two pets of any size can drift off to dreamland at the Days Inn. Best Western is also in this neighborhood. This hotel welcomes two pets up to 80 pounds, for an additional fee. If you have small to midsized pups, Super 8 is another option. Dogs up to 40 pounds can bunk at this hotel.

South Laramie

South Laramie is home to a couple pet friendly restaurants, so leash up your pup and head out for a night on the town. This neighborhood is located in Laramie, just a 30 minute drive from Centennial.  If you are in the mood for a sandwich, stop by McAlister’s Deli. With a menu full of scrumptious sandwiches, salads, and soups you’ll have a hard time choosing what to eat. This restaurant has nine outdoor tables that welcome four legged diners.  If pizza is more your thing, hop over to Mr. Jim’s Pizza where the pies are covered in mounds of fresh toppings and gooey cheese. Your pooch can join you at one of the outdoor patio tables.
