For a great place to go walking in the woods with your pooch, head about seven miles southwest to Regal Park in Saint Croix Falls. There's a hiking trail through this facility that you and Fido can use. Make sure that you keep your dog on a leash and that you clean up any waste.

Another trail in the Saint Croix area is the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. This pawesome trail stretches for almost 1,200 miles. The western end starts by the St. Croix River and winds through the city before heading north and east. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than eight feet.

Plan a day hike with your four-footed pal through forest, prairie, wetland, and farmland. Connect to Stower Seven Lakes Trail just outside of Dresser and follow this crushed stone rail-trail southeast toward Amery. You can park at Lotus Lake Park, about 9.2 miles southwest from Centuria.
