The area features many parks, both within the community and in the hill area to the west.

This is a great area for walking through quiet residential areas while having access to services on foot. There are plenty of pedestrian walkways and major arteries to provide access to the area. The weather is usually sunny and hot, with temperatures reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit or more, on a regular basis. Wear cool clothes, and take water and sunscreen for you and your dog when on walks in the heat of the day. This community has one of the lowest population densities in Los Angeles, making it a peaceful neighborhood with many single family residences and multi-family condominiums and townhouses. There are also plenty of restaurants, shopping and businesses, developed park areas, open areas, and natural areas, providing lots of variety in the region.

Many of the single-family homes are very large with pools and large, mature landscaped grounds. The area features several natural areas including the Santa Susana Mountains to the north and Stoney Point Park and Porter Ranch to the North. The commercial area in the valley is fairly flat, however, as you move into the residential area, the terrain becomes more hilly, and as you move to the west nearer the Santa Susana mountains natural area, changes in elevation become more pronounced. Hikes through the natural areas require some climbing and good footwear is recommended.
